About us

Welcome to the official profile for Irish Distillers. Irish Distillers is the producer of some of the world’s most well-known and successful Irish whiskeys and one of Ireland’s leading supplier of spirits and wines. Led by Jameson, our brands are driving the success of Irish whiskey globally and are exported to over 130 markets around the world, with many of those experiencing double or triple digit growth. Jameson is the world’s fastest-growing Irish whiskey, recording sales of more than 10 million cases in 2022. Formed in 1966, Irish Distillers was born when a merger took place between John Power & Son, John Jameson & Son and Cork Distilleries Company. In 1988, Irish Distillers joined Pernod Ricard, gaining access to unprecedented levels of investment and an extensive global distribution network. Since 2012, we have invested over €250m to double our production and bottling capacity to meet global demand for our products. Our portfolio of whiskeys is produced at Midleton Distillery, Co. Cork, where we push the boundaries of Irish whiskey production. Whether igniting passion for Irish whiskey with iconic brands such as Redbreast Single Pot Still and Powers, or defining the pinnacle of Irish whiskey with our Midleton Very Rare expressions, innovation is at the heart of everything we do. Today, we employ over 800 people across our operations in Cork, Dublin and Belfast. You must be of legal drinking age to follow us. Do not forward to anyone under the legal purchase age. Any user comments which condone or promote irresponsible or dangerous drinking will be removed. Please enjoy our products responsibly.

They say a picture paints a thousand words, but this one could use a bit of context... Before computers and modern technology, office records were carefully recorded in leather-bound ledgers. Neat, legible entries were a point of pride for account clerks but in 1811, one distracted clerk at the former Hewitts Distillery in Cork (later to become part of the Cork Distilleries Company) doodled the scenes beyond his office window, as farmers unloaded their barley. A moment in time, forever preserved in our archive more than 200 years later. #IrishDistillers #DidYouKnow

This week, a displaced swarm of bees was discovered taking up residence on a walkway barrier at Midleton Distillery. Luckily, our multi-talented Master Blender Dave McCabe is a beekeeper in his spare time and was ready to jump to the rescue. He just happened to have his beekeeping suit nearby, and with the help of Ronan Holt, our Environmental Projects Engineer & Facilities Manager (another beekeeper on our team) the pair managed to safely move the bees from the barrier to a temporary container – a Redbreast box. The “Redbreast hive” was then rehomed to an apiary managed by Dave and Ronan on the bee-utiful Ballycotton coast in East Cork.   #TheIrishDistillersSpirit

Always a special day in the Irish Distillers calendar, over 200 colleagues came together for Pernod Ricard’s annual global volunteering event, Responsib’All Day, to give back to our local communities in Cork and Dublin. Our colleagues in Midleton rolled up their collective sleeves to refurbish and enhance the nature trail at Cope Foundation while our colleagues in Dublin transformed a number of outdoor areas at St James's Hospital Dublin into rejuvenating spaces for staff, patients, and their families to enjoy. Circular making was the theme of the day and we put our creativity to the test, repurposing old whiskey barrels into planters, constructing bug and bee lodges from site wood and other natural materials, reusing and recycling old benches and seating pods from the pandemic, and adding biodiverse planting to renew the spaces. Thank you to all our volunteers and the team at Difference Days for their hard work. #IrishDistillers #ResponsibAllDay #GoodTimesGoodPlace

At Irish Distillers, we are committed to creating an inclusive environment, promoting allyship and nurturing an environment where every voice is valued. In June, we organised a series of events, activities and speakers to celebrate Pride Month coming together as a team to listen, learn, celebrate and support. A highlight from the month was Dil Wickremasinghe, renowned psychotherapist, social entrepreneur, TedX speaker, broadcaster, journalist, and workplace trainer’s inspiring talk on how to become more inclusive in the workplace. Over the course of the month we raised funds for LGBTQ charities in Ireland in activities organised by our BELONG D&I Network, including our Great Irish Distillers Bake Off! A huge thanks to our BELONG D&I Network and all colleagues involved in organising a wonderful schedule of events to celebrate Pride Month. #TheIrishDistillersSpirit #PRIDE

When it comes to sustainability, we know that actions speak louder than words. From regenerative agriculture to energy conservation to enhancing local biodiversity, our sustainability initiatives are ambitious as we work to reduce our impact. We understand the importance of education and awareness and bringing everyone at Irish Distillers on this journey with us. Over the past year, we have organised a range of activities and workshops to educate and engage our staff and make a difference in our communities. 🌳We attended an informative knowledge sharing session with the Forest Genetic Resources Trust at a pioneering seed orchard in North Cork and our colleagues from Midleton Distillery planted a mix of native oak, birch, and alder trees at Dungourney as part of our commitment to enhance biodiversity in our locality. ♻️We hosted a number of internal events, including a ‘Good Spirits Environment & Energy Week’ and ‘Circular Making Week’ , with activities such as carbon reduction talks, an interactive exhibition on energy conservation and local beach clean-ups. 🚜 We attended an environmental stewardship event organised by Teagasc's Signpost Farms initiative on climate-smart cropping systems and reducing our greenhouse gas emissions. Our Operations Director Tommy Keane also participated in a Rabobank Panel Session on regenerative agriculture and we hosted Carbery Group in Midleton for a day of knowledge sharing focused on sustainability in agriculture. 🥇Our commitments to sustainability were recognised once again as we were awarded Origin Green Gold Membership for 2023. By actively engaging our colleagues and partners in these efforts, we are dedicated to minimising our environmental impact and fostering a sustainable future for the communities we cherish. #IrishDistillers

Take a journey through the evolution of the Jameson Whiskey label, a testament to our rich heritage and innovative spirit. From the introduction of the iconic green signature in 1907 to the birth of the modern label in 1968, the Jameson label has continuously evolved. Yet, one feature has remained constant throughout the years—the name Jameson, a hallmark of authenticity and tradition seen on every bottle worldwide.   #IrishDistillers #ACenturyofLabels #Jameson
