Ireland is home to six of the top ten #cybersecurity software companies. According to Cyber Ireland, the Irish cybersecurity workforce is expected to grow by an additional 10,000 jobs by 2030, contributing up to €2.5 billion annually in gross added value. The country has seen and continues to see growth in cyberskills micro-credential programs, enabling candidates to pursue highly focused upskilling and reskilling to meet niche labour market needs. In 2020, the Irish Universities Association (IUA) was awarded €12.3 million through the country’s Department of Further and Higher Education to become the #first European country to establish a national framework for nationally accredited micro-credentials. Beckman Coulter Diagnostics, the largest employer in East Clare and among the largest in Ireland, has today announced a €10 million #investment that underscores its commitment to innovation and growth in the region. The company is actively hiring for 50 open roles and also announced 30 additional jobs. The investment will enhance Beckman Coulter’s world-class diagnostics production with the addition of two new fully automated reagent filling lines and upgrades to the site’s infrastructure, boosting both efficiency and capacity. Beckman Coulter’s economic contribution is highly significant to East Clare and the wider Mid-West region thanks to the 550 plus #jobs it provides in its facility. Employment at the site is anticipated to rise to 600 jobs, with headcount figures having almost doubled since 2018. PepsiCo, a global food and beverage leader, hosted Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment, Peter Burke and IDA Ireland CEO Michael Lohan at their HQ in Purchase, New York yesterday as part of the Irish government #TradeMission to the US East Coast. The meeting centred on PepsiCo's positive impact on job creation in Ireland and the continued investment in their three facilities in Cork at Little Island, East Gate, and Carrigaline. PepsiCo commenced operations in Little Island, #Cork in 1974 and now employ over 1,250 people in Ireland across its three sites. In 2023, the company announced a €39 million expansion of its manufacturing facilities at its Little Island site which followed the completion of a €127 million investment at the same site and the adjacent R&D facilities. #InvestInIreland #InvestInExtraordinary

For over a century, IBM has pioneered ground-breaking technologies, from the IBM mainframe to Artificial Intelligence (#AI), and now, Quantum Computing. This week, Ireland’s Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment, Peter Burke, alongside IDA Ireland and Enterprise Ireland, had the privilege of visiting the IBM Quantum team at the IBM Thomas J. As part of this week’s #TradeMission to the United States, our CEO Michael Lohan and Minister for Enterprise, Trade & Employment, Peter Burke, had a meeting with the J.P. Morgan team at their #NewYork headquarters. Engaging discussions with Lori Beer and John Stucker focused on the innovation economy and the pivotal roles of cloud, cybersecurity, emerging technologies like quantum computing and AI, and digital talent. Established in Ireland in 1968, J.P. Morgan is now one of the largest providers of commercial banking services, custody, and fund services in the country, employing over 1,500 people across Dublin and Cork. In 2018, they opened their new office in the Capital Dock building in Dublin. We deeply value our long-term partnership with J.P.
