  • IAPI were very happy to partner with pluto earlier this year to survey our membership and get your valued thoughts and experiences with the aim of making the industry more accessible. The research that informed Pluto's campaign revealed a number of interesting facts with over 50% of respondents considering themselves neurodivergent, although this information, for lots of different reasons, has not been shared with their employer. In addition, over 90% of respondents feel that a conversation at interview stage around how they work best would be beneficial to both them and their employer. The survey also noted that 60% of respondents feel that ‘lack of accommodation from an employer hinders neurodiverse people from staying in a position while over 70% of respondents feel that negative perceptions of neurodivergence result in a talent loss for the industry IAPI encourages all of our members to foster a workplace that embraces difference, blending neurotypical and neurodivergent perspectives, and unlocking all our strengths. • Yesterday, we hosted an inspiring branding event at the Alex Hotel Dublin featuring Mark Kingsley, branding expert and author of the acclaimed book “Universal Principles of Branding.” Flying in from NYC, Mark captivated the audience with his thought-provoking insights into the evolving landscape of branding. He shared his journey from a Grammy nomination in 2001 for his work with Blue Note Records to his innovative work at the Branding Innovation Group and his recent ventures into writing, including working on a new book on AI in branding. Mark’s charismatic approach and deep industry knowledge were evident as he delved into the psychology of branding, emphasizing calculative and associative thinking. Following Mark’s presentation, he joined a panel discussion with top industry professionals: Jamie Helly, Executive Chairman of Dynamo; Emer Fitzgerald, Strategy Director & Engagement Lead at Droga5 Dublin; and Suzanne Lloyd, Head of Brand & Marketing at PTSB. Emer Fitzgerald offered valuable insights into the aesthetics of design and the importance of creating memorable brand experiences. Jamie Helly discussed the evolving role of clients in the branding process, advocating for a collaborative approach where clients are actively involved as part of the creative team rather than mere evaluators. Suzanne Lloyd provided a compelling perspective on how her team builds trust with customers, stays relevant, and prioritises customer experience in their branding strategy. The panel discussion, moderated by IAPI CEO Charley Stoney, sparked a Q&A session, allowing the audience to engage directly with the speakers. The event concluded with a book signing, where attendees had the opportunity to meet Mark Kingsley and gain further insights into his approach to branding. Overall, the event offered a dynamic exploration of contemporary branding, leaving attendees with valuable takeaways on the art and science of creating impactful brands. Mark’s expert insights, combined with the diverse perspectives of the panelists, made for a memorable and enriching experience. See more images of the event in the Flickr album: https://lnkd.in/erXGbuFr There are still a few copies of Mark's book "Universal Principles of Branding" available for purchase at €20 a copy. Should you be interested in acquiring the book, please email [email protected]
