Ever wondered how cities can transition to sustainable living while revitalizing urban areas? 🧐 The Dublin City Council demolished old, dilapidated buildings and replaced them with modern architecture that blends eco-friendly solutions and high living standards. 👉 At the heart of this urban regeneration are our heat pumps providing efficient and sustainable heating and hot water for 67 apartments and commercial spaces. Each plant room has multiple heat pumps in a cascade system, ensuring a comfortable living environment while reducing the city's carbon footprint. This project sets a new standard for sustainable multi-apartment buildings, transitioning from traditional gas/oil heating to renewable energy sources. Next time you hear "heat pumps don't work in old buildings" remember this: Ireland’s oldest surviving purpose-built residential building has a heat pump providing all of its heating. Built between 1699 and 1702 the Rubrics Building is the oldest building within Trinity College Dublin. It's a Protected Structure and Recorded Monument. https://lnkd.in/eacFBJwd
