Developing Tight Alright - a pressure sensing, connected-health device for measuring & monitoring sub-bandage pressure.
About us
FeelTect’s technology, Tight Alright, is a pressure sensing, connected-health device for measuring and monitoring sub-bandage pressure during compression therapy, primarily for the millions of people worldwide with venous leg ulcers (VLUs). Compression is a proven therapy for VLUs, however if it’s applied too loose, it’s ineffective, and if it’s too tight, it’s dangerous. Yet studies have shown that it can be extremely difficult for experienced healthcare professionals to achieve a targeted pressure with existing products. As such, Tight Alright aims to improve the application and maintenance of evidence-based compression therapy, ensuring safety while reducing healing times.

We're proud and grateful for the excellent recognition of our collaborative work at the Wounds Australia conference this week at the Gold Coast, Queensland - runner-up up in the poster competition! This provides further validation for the recognised need to improve the application and maintenance of compression therapy in venous leg ulcer treatment, and the potential for FeelTect's #TightAlright's system to deliver a data-driven solution!
A great honour to end a wonderful Wounds Australia conference on beautiful Gold Coast - we received runner-up in the poster competition! It's been an excellent opportunity to connect with passionate members of Australia's #woundcare community over the last few days. Constant themes throughout the meeting were the benefits of virtual/digital care for wound care accessibility, and the importance of safe, effective #compressiontherapy in VLU treatment - aligning closely with FeelTect's core tenets. Thanks to the organisers for a top class conference, and thanks to Prof. Sebastian Probst for kindly sharing the picture of the announcement :) #TightAlright #connectedhealth #digitalhealth

We're extremely appreciative to LSI for the coverage in their latest Memo. We've been working hard to address the unsustainable burden of venous leg ulcers, aiming to have a profound positive impact on the lives of millions of patients with chronic wounds. Look out for further updates from our CEO, Andrew Cameron, at the upcoming ##LSIEurope24!
Hot off the press! The latest edition of The Memo, featuring Andrew Cameron, Founder & CEO of FeelTect is out now. 🗞 Here’s a preview of this week’s edition of our weekly newsletter, The Memo: The Irish startup, led by Founder & CEO Andrew Cameron, is pioneering a new era in compression therapy for venous leg ulcers, aiming to improve patient outcomes and alleviate the burden on healthcare systems. The Current Landscape Venous leg ulcers continue to be a growing problem, particularly in aging populations and among individuals with comorbidities such as obesity. "In the last five years, the number of venous leg ulcers in the UK has doubled, and the healing rate has decreased by 20%," Cameron points out. This surge in cases is straining healthcare systems already burdened by limited resources and a shortage of trained nurses. Compression therapy has long been the standard of care for venous leg ulcers, a condition resulting from the breakdown of valves in the leg veins. This therapy, which dates back over 500 years, helps restore blood flow and heal wounds. However, its application remains fraught with challenges. "Compression is applied totally blind. There's a 90% failure rate to achieve targeted pressure in clinical practice. Too tight is dangerous, too loose is ineffective," Cameron explains. Nurses and caregivers often apply compression with little or no guidance leading to a lack of pressure measurement during application. "Only about 2% of patients are seen by trained tissue viability nurses," says Cameron. "Even if the pressure is applied correctly, it can lose up to 50% of its effectiveness within the first three days due to the reduction in swelling." This variability can lead to prolonged healing times and frequent recurrence of ulcers. Continue Reading: https://lnkd.in/grM6bnGg

A brilliant start to our latest clinical study with Home Wound Care, first recruited patient totally healed!!! The kind gesture of gratitude shown by the patient is a testiment to the fantastic work of the study team, and the profound positive impact our Tight Alright technology can deliver 🙌 😊 #woundcare #compressiontherapy #tightalright #connectedhealth
We couldn’t have hoped for a better start to FeelTect’s latest clinical study with Home Wound Care! Yesterday marked the completion of our first recruited patient, who entered our study with a venous leg ulcer that hadn’t healed in over 8 months. After 8 weeks treatment with Tight Alright monitored compression therapy, the wound has completely healed! I’m not sure how common it is for the study team to receive flowers from a study participant but it definitely reflects our own appreciation for the work the team at Home Wound Care is doing. This gratitude is also what drives our ambition – to develop technology that delivers profound positive impacts for patients 😊. #woundcare #compressiontherapy #tightalright #connectedhealth
