Ardmore’s Director, Innovation – Garry Noonan – spoke to Clean Shipping International to share an update on Ardmore’s approach to environmental progress, through our Energy Transition Plan (ETP). “From our point of view, the energy transition has always been part of our core beliefs and goes to our DNA,” he said. “We are now in an evolutionary phase: doing more with what we have, while aware hydrocarbons are going to stay around for a long period of time. Ardmore today announced that Founder and CEO Anthony Gurnee will retire from his executive and board positions later this year concluding a long-established succession process. He will be succeeded as CEO by current Chief Commercial Officer Gernot Ruppelt, with current CFO Bart Kelleher to take on the additional role of President. This leadership transition will take effect from September 16, 2024. Ardmore’s Energy Transition Analyst, Oliwia Gałecka, was the deserving recipient of the Young Innovator of the Year Award, presented by HANSA - International Maritime Journal at the 16th Symposium on High-Performance Marine Vehicles – “Technologies for the Ship of the Future”. The symposium took place in Drübeck, Germany, this week, where presentations and discussions covered ultra-efficient and zero-emission ships, EEXI and CII issues, alternative fuels, electric ships, advanced designs, Shipyard 4.0, future materials, the future use of oceans within the blue economy, intelligent and connected ships, future antifouling, and biomimetic marine technologies. We have launched a three-month trial with Fuelre4m - a UAE-based company focused on transforming fossil fuels. The trial will focus on improving fuel efficiency and reducing emissions on the Ardmore Seahawk. The trial aims to demonstrate the potential of Fuelre4m’s Re4mx Fueloil in significantly reducing fuel consumption and exhaust emissions, while ensuring the highest standards of operational efficiency and environmental sustainability. “At Ardmore Shipping, we are committed to leading the industry in sustainability and operational excellence.
