Employee spotlight! Meet Connie, an incredible Allegion team member and a dedicated American Red Cross of Indiana volunteer. She's making a positive impact in our community, embodying Allegion's values of service and making a difference.
Meaningful and empowering. That’s how Connie Alexander describes her time as a Greater Indianapolis Chapter board member. Connie wrapped up her third board term with the Red Cross this week and we’re so grateful for her time and support! Connie has been greatly involved in our Home Fire Campaign and Sound the Alarm events. As a Senior Manager at Allegion Connie recruited employees to volunteer at Red Cross smoke alarm installations and helped coordinate home fire safety education events for staff working in Allegion warehouses. “It’s been exciting for me to see that relationship between Allegion and Red Cross build,” says Connie. Connie’s love for volunteering goes back to her childhood and she says her parents were great examples of how you can help others. Sean — a systems engineer with Allegion — believes that when an individual’s needs are met, they’ll do their best work. That’s why in 2021 he started developing what would launch the following year as the Allegion Pride Alliance (APA) ERG. We had an incredible turnout at our annual Greater Indy Habitat for Humanity home panel build in Carmel, Indiana. Over 100 passionate Allegion team members joined forces to make a difference in our community. Working side by side with the amazing Habitat for Humanity team and a deserving family, we are proud to contribute to building a brighter future. We are thrilled to announce that Allegion has been honored with two 2024 SEAL Awards for our environmental initiatives! We’re proud of our winning projects, both of which were in U.S. facilities: A logistics reconfiguration at our distribution center in Kansas that reduced shipping containers by up to 55% and a glass recycling initiative in Washington that will divert about 280,000 pounds of scrap glass from the landfill annually.
