Happy Monday from #TeamAlice! We're excited for the week as we gear up for a busy autumn! Our Senior Client Manager, Emma, is at UCD Belfield today delivering a social media workshop for our client BiOrbic, Bioeconomy SFI Research Centre. We’re also delighted to see client coverage for Children's Books Ireland on RTÉ. Laureate na nÓg Patricia Forde was interviewed as Gaeilge about the launch of the ultimate reading guide. Taking place on Culture Night this year, the guide celebrates the rich and diverse stories in Irish literature. Read the full article here: https://lnkd.in/eDBDXgDc With Budget 2025 just around the corner, we're working with AONTAS, the National Adult Learning Organisation, on the launch of their Holding You Back campaign. New findings from AONTAS show that 41% of people participating in adult education are struggling to pay for household bills and meals. Almost one third of people surveyed said they need greater financial support to remain in education to improve their quality of life, build knowledge, and boost their career opportunities. Former Paralympian Ailish Dunne from Laois is supporting the campaign and calling for increased financial supports for adult learners in Budget 2025. Ailish, who is blind and competed in the London Paralympics in 2012, wants to go to university to study psychology. However, she told RTÉ’s Gail Conway she fears it may just be a pipe dream unless she receives proper financial support: https://lnkd.in/eA8W_Kaz Finally, My Legacy Month officially kicked off as of yesterday! We are excited to help implement this campaign. Coverage has been picked up so far in the Irish Independent, Irish Daily Mirror, The Irish Sun and more! 📸 - Emma at an Alice Asks event in Belfast 📸 - RTE, Patricia Forde 📸 - Marc O'Sullivan, My Legacy Month 2024

Good afternoon from #TeamAlice! This week our team have their heads down preparing for a busy September of client campaigns such as #MyLegacyMonth with My Legacy. and the kick-off of Dublin Festival of History among others! This week we're working with out client Irish Architecture Foundation as they bring their “Reason of Towns” exhibition to Trim, Co. Meath as part of a national tour across Ireland. Opening in Trim on the 12th September, this ambitious exhibition celebrates the work of one of Ireland’s most renowned architects, Valerie Mulvin and focuses on the tradition and future of the Irish town. Congratulations to our client My Irish Books on the launch of 'Fuaimeanna na Feirme’, (Sounds of the Farm), the latest addition to the My Irish Books collection. This gorgeous new sound book showcases the noises and images of farm life, including animals, workers and machinery, and features an engaging and rich vocabulary as Gaeilge. We’re delighted to see the book receiving great #ClientCoverage from RTE and Irish Farmers Journal We hope everyone has a great week! 📸 Fuaimeanna na Feirme is beautifully illustrated by award-winning artist Anna Shabaltii. #AlicePlaybook

Happy Monday from Team Alice! We hope everyone enjoyed their weekend. 🚀Exciting times ahead as a team from Dublin Institute for Advanced Studies make history by playing a key role in the first-ever lunar-Earth flyby. 🌕🌍 Part of the European Space Agency's #JUICEmission, this event will help us better understand spacecraft behavior ahead of exploring Jupiter and its moons for signs of life. We're also looking forward to tuning into Nationwide on RTÉ 1 tonight at 7pm 📺, to learn all about the Astronomical Observatories of Ireland - an exciting initiative that has brought together the three historical observatories on the island of Ireland: Armagh Observatory & Planetarium, Birr Castle Demesneand DIAS Dunsink Observatory - and their plans to achieve UNESCO World Heritage Site status! On Thursday, Peter and Eoin will be at the GPO to assist Dublin City Council in launching the 12th annual Dublin Festival of History. Organised by Dublin City Libraries, in partnership with the Dublin City Council Culture Company, Dublin Festival of History will run over 220 free events from September 27th to October 13th, with their Big Weekend at the Printworks, Dublin Castle from September 27th to September 29th. 📖 📸 - The Irish Times, 'Juice mission to Jupiter to undertake high risk fly-by of Earth and Moon' 📸 - Dublin City Library & Archive’s Fáilte Ireland Collection. Taken on Grafton Street in 1971, before the street was pedestrianised (1982). The sign for Switzer’s department store can be seen, on the building that’s now Brown Thomas.

Good afternoon from #TeamAlice, We hope everyone had a lovely bank holiday. We’re never short on reasons for visiting the fine Georgian heritage town of Birr in Co Offaly but here's another great excuse! ‘The Reason of Towns’, an exhibition by the Irish Architecture Foundation with architect Valerie Mulvin, is now showing at John’s Hall, Birr, until Sunday, 11th August. It explores the traditions and future of the Irish town and features a series of immersive display ‘characters’, alongside the writings and buildings of Mulvin and her practice, McCullough Mulvin Architects. Over the weekend, we were delighted to see our #AliceAcademyForActivists alumni Leon Diop and Abdulai Mansaray host and contribute to discussions at the Global Solidarity Hub at All Together Now Both Leon and Abdulai spoke on the panel titled ‘Ireland’s 100,000 Welcomes, But Where Are You Really From?’ which explored the narrative around migration in Ireland. Also, a belated happy birthday to Leon! 🎂 Finally, since we've all spent the last week with at least half an eye glued to Paris, we're wishing the best of luck to all the amazing Irish Olympians competing this week and huge congratulations to those who've medalled so far 🥇🥉 📸Photo credit: Conor Healy PR Corporate Portrait Photographer based in Dublin, Irish Architecture Foundation, Towns of Reason exhibition 2024 #AlicePlaybook
