We are excited to share our latest project: partnering with the National Disability Authority (NDA) - Centre for Excellence in Universal Design to create National Guidelines for Changing Places Toilets (CPT) in Ireland! These new guidelines aim to support the latest Irish building regulations (Part M Amendment Regulations 2022 and Technical Guidance Document M 2022) and set a new standard for accessibility nationwide. What’s New?💡 - Comprehensive Guidelines: Detailed recommendations for designing, maintaining, and managing CPTs in new and existing buildings. - Exceeding Minimum Standards: Offering practical guidance that exceeds the Technical Guidance Document M requirements. - Stakeholder Engagement: Extensive consultations with the NDA, the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage, national disability organisations, and the public. Your feedback has been invaluable! - Technical Expertise: Incorporating best practices, product research, technical plans, 3D images, and accessible documentation to ensure clarity and usability. Our approach at OHAC - 'Review, Assess, Consult, and Recommend' - ensures that these guidelines are thorough, inclusive, and reflective of the best practices in Universal Design. This collaboration has been a remarkable journey, and we’re proud to contribute to making public and private spaces in Ireland more accessible and inclusive. Access the guidelines here - https://lnkd.in/eZ7u-NYx A huge thank you to everyone involved - users of CPTs, facility managers, suppliers, disability advocates, and all our amazing stakeholders. Your input and support have been crucial in making this happen.
