Sejarah Anatolia (sering disebut dalam sumber lama sebagai Asia Minor) bisa dibagi secara mudah ke dalam: Prasejarah Anatolia (hingga akhir milenium ke-3 SM), Anatolia Kuno (mencakup periode Hattian, Hittite dan pasca-Hittite), Anatolia Klasik (mencakup periode Achaemenid, Hellenistic dan Romawi), Anatolia Bizantium (kemudian tumpang tindih, sejak abad ke-11, dengan penaklukan oleh Seljuk dan Ottoman secara bertahap), Anatolia Ottoman (abad ke-14–ke-20) dan Anatolia Modern, sejak pembentukan Republik Turki.
