Pionir Mormon adalah para anggota Gereja Yesus Kristus dari Orang-orang Suci Zaman Akhir yang bermigrasi pada pertengahan dasawarsa 1840-an di Amerika Serikat dari Amerika Serikat Barat Tengah ke Salt Lake Valley di wilayah negara bagian Amerika Serikat yang sekarang bernama Utah. Pada masa perencanaan eksodus pada 1846, teritorial tersebut adalah bagian dari Republik Meksiko, yang berperang dengan Amerika Serikat atas sengketa perbatasan yang dibiarkan tak terselesaikan setelah aneksasi Texas. Salt Lake Valley menjadi teritorial Amerika setelah perang tersebut.
