Persamaan gelombang adalah sebuah persamaan diferensial parsial linear tingkat kedua untuk mendeskripsikan gelombang yang dipelajari dalam fisika klasik seperti gelombang mekanikal (seperti gelombang air, gelombang suara dan gelombang seismik) atau gelombang-gelombang cahaya. Persamaan tersebut muncul dalam bidang-bidang seperti akustik, elektromagnetik dan dinamika fluida.
