How can Sales Operations professionals gain experience in a new industry?
I think transferable skills is one of the top reasons why the organization or the manager would like to hire us as a new professional in a new industry. I learned this based on my experience moving from fmcg/otc pharmaceutical industry through agro chemical industry. I am glad that my nanager put a big highlight on the leadership and commercial acumen over technical and industrial knowledge. By bringing a new professional into a new industry bring a lot of benefit to bring fresh look on a lot of things including the way doing business, the market, the competition, customers, and team members. While many strong transferable skills can be implement immediately to the new industry. And it works! We 3x our business in the first 3 years!

How can Sales Operations professionals gain experience in a new industry?
Based on my experience moving industry from FMCG to chemical industry, i learnt that being flexible and adaptable it's very important and critical to learn and adapt faster to the new industry. I listened a lot from my team, colleagues, and customer to gain as much as knowledge I can learn from them, while try to give my view and perspective from my transferable knowledge. Beside to accelerate my learning, this listening, and being adaptable and flexible is important to gain trust from the member managers colleagues and customers
