The Star Energy Geothermal Darajat II (SEGD II) geothermal field has operationally and environmentally advantageous features. The predominance of steam in the SEGD II reservoir facilitates extraction processes that do not require separation between steam and water (single phase). SEGD II utilizes a single-casing turbine (all turbine compartments within a single casing). Typically, this turbine construction is only applied to small-capacity turbines, but SEGD II has successfully developed it up to a capacity of 121 MW at the Darajat Unit-3 geothermal power plant, making it the largest single-casing turbine in the world. SEGD II became the first geothermal company in Indonesia to develop the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) and was registered to update its CDM program with the UNFCCC in 2015. SEGD II also holds the largest Certified Emission Reduction (CER) credits in the geothermal sector. Star Energy Geothermal (SEG) reaffirms its commitment to supporting human resource development in the renewable energy sector through its active participation in the Inclusive Sustainable Economic Development (ISED) Project. Germany's Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) initiated this project. At the same time, the National Development Planning Agency (Bappenas) and Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH implemented it. ISED aims to promote sustainable employment in the renewable energy sector by intensely and coordinatedly involving the private and public sectors. In this project, two team members from SEG are actively engaged in two main activities. Dhini Syalina, Team Leader Human Capital Business Partner (HCBP) in the Human Capital (HC) department of SEG, shared her transformative experience in the project: "Being recognized as an international master trainer in the renewable energy industry is a testament to the opportunities SEG provides for personal growth. The international standard apprenticeship program available at the company also helps strengthen human resource development. I am also pleased to share best practices in human resource development in the geothermal industry." Meanwhile, Hariyanto, Team Manager of Operations and Maintenance at SEG Wayang Windu, explained: "This experience showcases Star Energy Geothermal as a role model in creating competencies used as benchmarks by companies in the geothermal industry. Besides enhancing my expertise in the operational technical field, I am also able to develop myself in competency development. Through this experience, I have successfully expanded my professional network in human resource development in the geothermal industry." On May 27, 2024, 17 Star Energy Geothermal trainees from the Finance Administration & Strategic Planning Trainee (StarFAST) and Supply Chain Management, Human Capital, and IT Department (StarSHINE) Batch 1 & 2 experienced a memorable moment. They successfully completed the training program organized by Star Energy Geothermal (SEG), which included in-class sessions, on-the-job training (OJT), and project assignments, demonstrating their enhanced skills and knowledge. Merly, Group Chief Finance & Administration Officer and Agus Sandy, Group Chief Strategy & Planning Officer, representatives of management, relevant department heads, technical chairman, and mentors attended the event. In their remarks, Merly and Agus Sandy congratulated all the trainees, recognizing their pivotal role in the success of the program, and encouraged them to continue learning and developing themselves. The event was filled with memorable moments, especially during the presentation of graduation certificates to each participant, and concluded with the trainees presenting mementos to their respective department heads, mentors, and technical chairman. The event raised awareness about safety within the household, with mothers as the primary guardians. During this activity, dr. Billy, the field's doctor, led the P3K session, while the Safety, Health, Environment (SHE) team, through SEG's Fire Emergency Response Team (FERT), trained participants in fire extinguishing techniques. The success of this event demonstrated the collective effort of all participants, including the Geothermal Mothers' Association of Darajat, to ensure the safety of family members within the household environment.
