🚀🌏🎂 Happy Anniversary CLS Indonesia: Celebrating 20 years of commitment to the preservation and sustainable development of Indonesia! This year, we are celebrating our 20th anniversary! And we are really happy and proud to celebrate this milestone with you. In 2004, CLS Group, a subsidiary of CNES (the French space agency) and CNP, specialized in Earth observation and providing decision-making services to protect the planet and sustainably manage its resources, founded CLS Indonesia. That year, Indonesia, aware of the importance of preserving its marine resources, decided to improve the monitoring of its fishing activities to ensure the future of its biodiversity and to support the economic activities that rely on it. To achieve this ambitious goal, Indonesia implemented a fishing activity monitoring system to equip all industrial fishing vessels with location beacons and established a state-of-the-art fisheries monitoring center. 👉 CLS Group was selected to deliver : ✅3,000 satellite tracking beacons ✅and 1 fishing monitoring center. To successfully carry out this mission, CLS decided to create a subsidiary in Indonesia to be closer to local needs and challenges. Thus began the CLS Indonesia adventure. Over the past 20 years, our company has diversified and become a key partner for local stakeholders, both private and public, working in sectors such as shipping, environment, marine meteorology, land management, and of course, sustainable fishing. Our experts have not only supported Indonesia in managing its natural resources but have also contributed to major national projects. Among them is the construction of a sustainable fisheries, aquaculture, shrimp farming, and seaweed cultivation management center, as well as the renewed partnership in 2020 with BMKG to deploy a world-unique marine meteorology system. Today, CLS Indonesia is a team of over 30 experts, backed by the expertise of an international group of 900 professionals. 📣 EduWorkshop 2024 - Waste Management and Eco Enzyme   ♻ To celebrate World Cleanup Day 2024, PT. CLS Argos Indonesia in collaboration with River Ranger Jakarta, one of the environmental communities held an EduWorkshop event about Waste Management and Eco Enzyme.   ❓ Eco enzyme, often called "organic enzyme" or "fermented enzyme," is a natural cleaning agent made from the fermentation of organic waste, like fruits and vegetables, with sugar and water. It’s typically produced through a fermentation process that lasts several months.   💡 These enzymes are touted for their eco-friendly properties and can be used for various purposes, including:   ◾ Cleaning ◾ Gardening ◾ Deodorizing ◾ Waste Management   🎉 Instead of getting new knowledge about waste management, we also get a new experience making the eco enzyme that we can implement in our homes sustainably. Thank you to the team that has been involved in this event. My role is as Business Developers at CLS Indonesia. The shipping industry in Indonesia has been growing in recent years, and shipping companies have started to realize the importance of digitalization of their maritime business, indeed CLS Indonesia has the capacity for that, and because the demand is there, we have the capacity for that, so we must be able to answer the market challenges, and of course, CLS Indonesia is the best choice for its customers. For that reason, at the moment I choose to focus on the Shipping company, and CLS Indonesia as a satellite group company has a wide range of products. I also see that various businesses have the potential to run in Indonesia. We will try to work on it too.   2️⃣ What are some of the key challenges that shipping companies face today, and how does CLS Indonesia's range of services address these challenges? Each shipping company has a different and unique performance system so we face many challenges with very diverse problems, such as in terms of our RnD to be able to continue to innovate quickly to answer these needs because the solution must be built at the right time and real-time.   3️⃣ Could you share a success story where your expertise and CLS Indonesia's solutions made a significant impact on a client's operations? One of the businesses in the shipping field we are currently working on is port monitoring with the RnD division to help our clients who want to digitize their port business. We have conducted an early-stage trial and it has been successful, and of course, we will try to answer all the challenges that exist, to be able to complete this project well   4️⃣ How do you stay informed about the latest trends and developments in the shipping industry to ensure that your clients receive the best possible service? Usually, I like to discuss with existing clients or potential clients to know what their problems are, from the news to see the development of the shipping industry and where their vision is headed, exhibitions to see innovations and government regulations because it’s one of the most important things, and competitors because they indirectly make us continue to innovate quickly.   5️⃣ What do you find most rewarding about working with CLS Indonesia and supporting the shipping industry? I’m Alfian, a project manager with experience in offshore surveying and a passion for innovation. Back in the day, I was involved in numerous offshore assignments for oil and gas and submarine infrastructure clients. My background includes a degree in Computer Engineering from Bandung Institute of Technology, Indonesia. At CLS, I serve as the local Project Manager for BMKG’s MMS, contributing to a complex project that aims to bring Indonesia’s maritime resilience to a whole new level."   ❓ Why did you choose to work at CLS? "I chose CLS because of its global reputation in satellite-based solutions for maritime safety and environmental monitoring. CLS’s commitment to sustainability aligns with my personal values, and I wanted to be part of a team that pioneers cutting-edge technologies for ocean conservation."   ❓ Can you tell us about the MMS project? "I’m excited about the future transformation of MMS and the positive impact of the MMS project globally."   🌊 Marine Meteorology: Indonesia Always One Step Ahead   With over 17,000 islands and territorial waters comprising nearly 70% of its territory, Indonesia is a maritime country with the largest sea area and number of islands. Despite its natural marine resources, the maritime sector exploits less than 10% of this potential. To address this, the Indonesian government launched the World Maritime Axis vision, aiming to develop the maritime economy, enhance inter-island connectivity, and boost tourism.   To achieve this, efficient maritime meteorology services are crucial. The BMKG aims to provide Indonesia with the most advanced Maritime Meteorological System, ensuring safety and optimization for all maritime activities. MMS will help Indonesia better anticipate inclement weather and plan sea operations with accuracy and efficiency. This will reinforce Indonesia's position as an international player in meteorology and climate. MMS, powered by CLS, meets high standards of excellence to comply with BMKG requirements and deliver the best service to Indonesian citizens. It includes an ambitious in-situ observation network that will be a part of Indonesian meteorological history.
