🌍 Exciting News! We’re proud to share that Langley Holdings Plc, parent company of Bergen Engines, has acquired GKN Hydrogen - a leader in innovative #hydrogen storage technology. The company develops metal hydride compounds that store hydrogen in solid form at 16 times the density of compressed gas without degradation for up to 30 years. By heating the hydride to 60°C (140°F), the hydrogen is released as gas with 99% efficiency, as proven in over 7,000 cycles. The Bergen name is a watchword for quality and reliability in its field. The tradition of engineering in Bergen, Norway, dates to 1855 when the original company Bergen Mekaniske Verksted (BMV) was founded. In 1946, the company built its first diesel engine and has since commissioned over 7,500 iconic liquid and gas fueled engines. Around half of them are still in operation today; such is the quality and reliability of a Bergen engine. Formerly Rolls-Royce Bergen Engines, on 31st December 2021, the company became part of the privately owned British engineering group, Langley Holdings plc Today, the business employs more than 900 people across the world from their Norwegian headquarter and nine subsidiary offices.

Hemos diseñado para Johnson & Johnson una innovadora microrred hibrida-renovable que integra cogeneración, baterías y una fotovoltaica existente. En nuestro compromiso con la reducción de la huella de carbono y la transición energética, esta planta logrará una reducción de emisiones del 46%, ahorrando 21.500 toneladas de CO2 al año. La planta combina calor y electricidad para lograr la máxima eficiencia, contribuyendo a un gran ahorro de costes por su alta rentabilidad. Además, garantiza la continuidad de la alimentación, incluso en caso de fenómenos climatológicos adversos o interrupción. El sistema, es una microrred que consta de dos generadores de gas natural Bergen Engines de alta eficiencia de 3,4 MW cada uno, con una capacidad total de 6,8MW. Este método de recuperación de calor de los motores producirá vapor y agua caliente para la demanda de Janssen. E incluye una batería de 2MW para garantizar el funcionamiento sin interrupciones de las instalaciones principales y la microrred, además integrará una planta solar existente en el futuro. La planta ha sido diseñada, financiada, construida y será explotada durante los próximos 8 años por SAMPOL.
