Product vs Project Manager — What's the Difference? Product Managers focus on crafting the strategic vision for a product's success, continuously adapting to customer needs, and driving ongoing development. They prioritize customer satisfaction and possess skills in problem-solving and flexibility. In contrast, Project Managers excel in ensuring timely and efficient project delivery, mitigating risks, managing resources, and holding direct authority over project teams. While both roles share some skill sets, their complementary nature emphasizes the need for dedicated professionals in each role. The collaboration between product and project managers is essential for businesses to navigate the complexities of product development and project execution. Recognizing and aligning these roles contribute to building a robust framework for success, especially in a landscape where businesses are shifting towards frequent releases. Unlocking funding for underrepresented founders is vital for both equity and economic prosperity. In 2022, Black and Latino founders received just 1% and 1.5% of US venture capital, and women-founded teams received only 1.9%. The funding gap is evident across all growth stages. Examining average funding, exit-stage startups led by White male founders received over $210 million, while underrepresented founders received only 43% ($91.1 million). Underrepresented founders face systemic challenges in limited access to networks, biases in founder perception, a lack of an established blueprint for success, and a more significant mental health burden. Despite these challenges, supporting underrepresented founders is morally right and economically sound. Closing the funding gap could generate trillions in additional revenue. Diverse founders deliver 30% higher returns for investors upon exit than their White male counterparts. To address disparities, stakeholders must expand sourcing pools, increase investment flows to diverse founders, leverage non-monetary strengths, and establish aspirations for transparency and accountability. Investing in underrepresented founders is an investment in outsized returns and greater innovation. These actions can move us closer to a more equitable and prosperous startup ecosystem. #StartupEquality #InclusiveInnovation #InvestInDiversity
