#GOtradewithus Our latest HUPX GO auction on July 16 has showcased remarkable results, demonstrating continuous growth in traded quantities. Since 2024 March, we've seen consistent monthly increases, and this month, we've doubled the traded quantity compared to last July! 📈 In this auction, we observed a total of 884 637 MWh of GOs deposited, and the volume of orders placed on the buy side reached 3 345 823 MWh. The volume of AIB GO traded amounted to 640 216 MWh at a volume weighted average price of 0.75 €/MWh. These figures show strong demand and strong liquidity on the HUPX GO market. #HUPXpert - 𝐑𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐫𝐝 𝐧𝐞𝐠𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐭 𝐇𝐔𝐏𝐗 This year, HUPX Day-Ahead Market experienced a record number of #negativepricehours, exceeding the combined sum of all previous years. This trend is especially visible during weekend peak periods and is becoming increasingly common across European power markets. The increase of renewable generation capacities and low weekend power demand have led to significant export positions from the Hungarian bidding zone during these peak hours. The general increase of such capacities in the EU and the limited capabilities or willingness/motivation to restrict excess production together results in negative hourly prices. These developments highlight the growing importance of #flexibility in the energy markets and also gives a strong investment signal to utilize or create such flexible capacities. As more renewable energy comes online, the need for adaptable and resilient energy systems becomes more crucial than ever. Power industry is on the brink of radical and imminent changes! #GOtradewithus We have some updates from the HUPX GO auction held on June 18, 2024. The results were positive compared to the previous months, indicating increased market activity. A total of 848,586 GOs were deposited, with an impressive 845,931 MWh offered by sellers from HU and HR. On the buy side, orders surged to an incredible 3,327,327 MWh, highlighting the strong demand. In this bustling environment, 495,858 MWh of AIB GOs were traded, with the volume-weighted average price settling at a competitive 0.96 EUR/MWh.
