On the 2 July 2024 Ms Andrea Beatrix Kádár, President of the Hungarian Atomic Energy Authority (HAEA) took part in the high-level segment of the Build-up Exercise organized by the Preparatory Commission of the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Organization - CTBTO at Gyöngyös-Mátrafüred and had a bilateral meeting with the CTBTO’s high level officials. The President underlined the importance of the Treaty and Hungary’s unwavering commitment to support the activities of CTBTO. A program során, az OAH elnöke kétoldalú találkozón vett részt a nemzetközi szervezet vezető tisztségviselőivel, ahol hangsúlyozta a szerződés fontosságát, valamint Magyarország elkötelezettségét a CTBTO munkájának támogatásában. A program további részében a CTBTO munkatársai terepmunkán keresztül tesztelték és gyakorolták az általuk használt technikai berendezések működtetését, betekintést nyújtva a “kulisszák mögé” a meghívott diplomaták, kormányzat képviselők és a sajtó számára. Hungary's EU Presidency takes off: HAEA chairs the EU Council's nuclear preparatory body for six months In the last meeting of the Belgian Presidency, on 19 June 2024, the Hungarian Atomic Energy Authority (HAEA) took over the chairmanship of the EU Council's preparatory body on atomic questions. The priorities of the Hungarian Presidency's six-month programme will be the situation of nuclear safety and security of nuclear facilities in Ukraine, security of nuclear fuel supply, international initiatives on small modular reactors, and highlighting the Hungarian achievements in nuclear forensics, which are outstanding at international level. From now on, HAEA will be responsible for preparing the meetings of the working group for six months and chairing the meetings, which will also be an opportunity to give greater priority to issues of importance to Hungary. To read the full article please click here: https://lnkd.in/dn5y6GVs Megkezdődött hazánk európai uniós elnöksége: az OAH az EU Tanácsának nukleáris döntéselőkészítő munkacsoportját elnökli fél éven keresztül   2024. június 19-én az Országos Atomenergia Hivatal átvette az Európai Unió Tanácsának nukleáris kérdésekkel foglalkozó, döntéselőkészítő munkacsoportjának elnökségi tisztségét. A magyar elnökség féléves programjának kiemelt témakörei az ukrán nukleáris létesítmények nukleáris biztonsága és védettsége, a nukleárisüzemanyag-ellátás biztonsága, a kisméretű, moduláris reaktorokhoz kapcsolódó nemzetközi kezdeményezések, a nukleáris törvényszéki analitika nemzetközi szinten is kiemelkedő magyar eredményeinek ismertebbé tétele. Mostantól fél éven keresztül az OAH feladata a munkacsoport üléseinek előkészítése, valamint a találkozók levezetése, amely egyben lehetőség arra, hogy nagyobb hangsúlyt kapjanak a hazánk számára fontos kérdések. The Hungarian Atomic Energy Authority (HAEA) hosted the international nuclear safeguards consultation regarding the new nuclear power plant, held on 10 June 2024. The discussion focused on the concept of Safeguards by Design, which promotes the consideration of international nuclear safeguards requirements in the design of new nuclear power plants. The meeting was attended by representatives of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), the European Commission, Paks II. Nuclear Power Plant Ltd. and HAEA , who discussed how the new blocks can meet the technical specifications set out in the international organizations’ document on basis of nuclear safeguards requirements. Az egyeztetés témája az ún. Safeguards by Design koncepció volt, amely az új atomerőművek tervezése során elősegíti a nemzetközi nukleáris biztosítéki követelmények figyelembe vételét. A találkozón a Nemzetközi Atomenergia Ügynökség, az Európai Bizottság, a Paks II. Atomerőmű Zrt. és az OAH képviselői vettek részt, ahol arról tárgyaltak, hogy az új blokkok miként tudnak megfelelni azoknak a műszaki specifikációknak, amelyek a nemzetközi szervezetek nukleáris biztosítéki követelményeinek alapjait tartalmazó dokumentumban szerepelnek. International assessment of the stress-test of the Akkuyu nuclear power plant in Türkiye with Hungarian participation A nuclear safety inspector of the Hungarian Atomic Energy Authority (HAEA), András Gábor Siklósi, participated in the expert mission of the European Union, which aimed to evaluate the comprehensive and transparent risk and safety assessment (so called stress test) report for the NPP under construction at the Akkuyu site.
