We think that there is excessive waste in the food industry, when some of this waste is reusable (like the pomace from wineries and rosehip seeds from tea and jam makers) and can even serve as ideal raw materials for creating new products. This is upcycling that in our case is followed by a zero-waste production.
We have been pressing more than 20 kinds of seeds in our own factory located in Hungary since 2009. As a result of the own-developed machinery and technology, the stricktly tested raw materials and the highest food industrial standards, we produce cold-pessed oils of outsanding quality. We sell own brand Grapoila, offer products in bulk size, and also produce for private label. Grapoila cold-pressed oils are worldwide sought gourmet and cosmetic oils, there are both conventional and organic versions available.
Cold-pressing is a gentle, entirely mechanical method to obtain the prescious oil content of the seeds, and it that doesn’t change the chemical composition of the raw materials. The whole process is free of additives and chemicals. Grapoila oils are perfect salad oils, can season and decorate cold dishes. The ones with high smoke points are also great for frying.
The first residues of pressing are the dry parts of the seeds, the pellets. They are full of vitamins, minerals, vegan protein and fibre, so they are worth to save. We mill and sieve them, and produce the Grapoila seed flours, which are great gluten free substitutes of wheat flour, but also natural baking ingredients, thickening, flavoring, coloring agents. On the other side there are the settlements of the filtered oils, which we use to make gourmet butters, creams, or natural cosmetics.
At the end all of the byproducts are saved, sold as or further processed to fine foods, natural cosmetics, or animal feed. By 2022 Grapoila products have won many food and innovation awards, as well as collected 19 Great Taste stars all together.
