WNJ Ventures x LAUUNCH! Startup Spotlight: FamBam HK FamBamhk (https://fambamhk.com/) is an all-in-one family entertainment platform that connects a community of parents, family brands and brand ambassadors. 🚀 FamBamhk’s Journey FamBamhk is led by serial entrepreneur Elton Yau who possess in-depth experience and extensive network across the family sector in Hong Kong. With a growing user base of 15,000 and over 700 service providers & brand ambassadors, the team has effectively leveraged the LAUUNCH! program to develop a healthy balance between the demand and supply side dynamics for it's platform. The team's unique strategic partnership with Eugene Group, one of the leading family brands in Hong Kong, provides the venture with proprietary data access to further finetune it's product development. 📈 WNJ’s Sector Analysis: Family Consumption Family consumption has remained a solid, "counter-cyclical" sector. In the Hong Kong market alone, there's 2.5M households - of which 260K represent next generation families who are the ideal target customer segment for FamBamhk's core proposition of "making parenting easier and more fun". ⏭️ The Next Phase FamBam continues its go-to-market growth in Hong Kong, as it looks to develop product features that better serve its increasing customer segment pool in a more effective way. #startup #familytech #community #incubation #LAUUNCH #startupspotlight

WNJ Ventures x LAUUNCH! Startup Spotlight: PopChill 拍拍圈 PopChill 拍拍圈 is a sustainable fashion marketplace powered by AI authentication that enables users to buy and sell second-hand fashion and apparel, including clothing, shoes, bags and accessories. 🚀 PopChill’s Journey Led by serial entrepreneur 郭家齊 (Andy Kuo), PopChill presented a venture with an exciting mix of opportunities, while the team handles a delicate balance of building social impact, customer trust and facilitating the flow of products across borders. With around US$5.2 million fundraised from investors to date including 500 Global and US-based Acorn Pacific Ventures, the venture symbolises a great example of an emerging, international startup successfully using Hong Kong and the LAUUNCH! program for a pilot Go-To-Market to scale across international markets. 📈 WNJ’s Sector Analysis: Sustainable Fashion Estimated to be at US$7.8 billion in 2023, the global sustainable market size is forecast to grow to US33.1 billion by 2030 (source: Coherent Market Insights), driven largely by increasing consumer awareness and consciousness about environmental and social issues. 75% of Gen Z consumers have purchased 2nd hand goods to reduce their environment impact. ⏭️ The Next Phase PopChill is currently in their go-to-market phase in Hong Kong, concentrated at growing both their demand and supply side. It is well positioned to leverage off the connectivity and consumer habits of Hong Kong to grow in Asia (such as Singapore and Malaysia) and beyond. #startup #fashiontech #community #incubation #LAUUNCH #startupspotlight

Great to have a lively discussion around initiatives to drive connectivity across the region together with BritCham representatives from British Chamber of Commerce Singapore (BritCham) and British Chamber of Commerce in Taipei (BCCTaipei) - always good to see both David Kelly and Colin Giles in Hong Kong!
#FridayFive - Happy Friday, and Selamat Hari Raya to those who were celebrating this week. Here are my highlights from this week from across the British Chamber of Commerce Singapore (BritCham). 1. BA in HK – I was pleased to join British Airways (thank you to Rajesh Nair Noella Ferns Ruby Ho Grace Tsang and Rosa Lam) at the Hong Kong 7’s where I met up with the super team and to think more broadly about how we can support UK trade missions coming into #Asia. It was also great to catch up with the brilliantly inspiring pair of Colin Giles, CEO of the British Chamber of Commerce in Taipei (BCCTaipei), and Lee Murphy of WNJ Ventures as we continue to build and support connectivity across the region. ✈ 2. Britain in South East Asia | BiSEA – as part of our regional support for UK business, the BiSEA Chambers met virtually with Martin Kent, His Majesty’s Trade Commissioner for Asia Pacific, this week to talk about future plans and the UK APAC roadshow that we are attending during the last two weeks of June. A huge thank you to Martin for his time and engagement with the Chamber network. 🌏 3. Welcome to Ysabel Y.– we are super pleased to welcome Ysabel to the Chamber this week. Ysabel is working with our events team and we look forward to further supporting our members with continuing events, excellent content and networking opportunities. Please join me in welcoming Ysabel to the Chamber team. 👋 4. #Education and #Innovation – we have spent some time this week exploring the opportunities to promote UK education and innovation. The Chamber is working on a plan to see how we can better promote UK innovation and #University education in #Singapore – watch this space! 🏫 5. Digital Trade and eSports – We are continuing to work on the Trade Digitalisation Pilot programme with the UK Government and LogChain. We have been with Singapore Aero Engine Services Private Limited (SAESL) (sneak peek in the photo below) as part of this programme and are also hosting an event on Friday 19th April (The Future of Trade: Insights from the UK-Southeast Asia Trade Digitalisation Pilots Initiative) – for more details visit: https://lnkd.in/gCjdYJ8r . Thank you also to Unmish PARTHASARATHI for inviting us (Louise Beazor) to join his event on #eSports – the Chamber is also looking to support #British #SportsTech companies looking to expand into South East Asia. 🏃♂️ That’s it for this week – with Singapore Maritime Week (SMW) coming up on Monday, I’m looking forward to another busy week and hope to see you at various events happening across Singapore.
