About us

The Swiss Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong (SCCHK) represents the Swiss business community to both the Swiss and HKSAR governments. Through regular meetings and luncheons, members can meet and discuss their common interests in HKSAR. The SCCHK also informs members of new government initiatives that might have relevance for them and acts as a lobbying vehicle to promote their interests to the Government. The SCCHK is a member of the respected International Business Committee (IBC), which meets the Chief Secretary of the HKSAR quarterly to discuss business interests. Working in cooperation with the IBC as well as with other business chambers and organizations like the Trade Development Council, the SCCHK hosts luncheons in which members can listen to top speakers like the Chief Executive of HKSAR, the major policy secretaries like the Chief and Financial Secretaries, and local business of HKSAR. Members also have access to social functions and luncheons organized by the SCCHK. Together with the Swiss Association, the SCCHK endeavors to provide a networking framework for Swiss nationals in HKSAR supporting the unity of the Swiss community while making it easier for individual members to avail themselves of the many opportunities that HKSAR offers.

  • In our event series "Invest in..." we offer the opportunity to delve deeper into various, not quite everyday investment opportunities. Yesterday we ventured a deep dive into "Invest in... Cigars" together with CIGRAAL LTD. Eric Piras and Antoine Riberet gave insights into the world of tobacco trade and consumption and showed some possibilities of how the market could develop in the future. 👏🏻✨ Of course, with a topic like this, neither a good cigar nor a good glass of whiskey could be missing. 🥃 Many thanks to CIGRAAL LTD and Bertie for making this event possible. Our "Invest in..." series continues. Stay tuned! 🥂💫

  • As announced by the Hong Kong Government on 1 July: "Non-Chinese Hong Kong permanent residents will soon be eligible for a card-type document (Mainland Travel Permits for Hong Kong and Macao Residents (non-Chinese Citizens)) to enhance convenience of clearance at control points of the Mainland, facilitating their visit to the Mainland for business, travelling, and visiting relatives. The Exit and Entry Administration of the country will start issuing the card on July 10.” For further information: https://lnkd.in/gUnYqSgg Yesterday's excellent news is supported by SwissCham. We and other organizations have been asking for this for a long time and are therefore all the more pleased that the government has now implemented this step. Simplifying travel for non-Chinese Hong Kong permanent residents will further simplify economic relations between Switzerland, Hong Kong and China and should therefore be seen as a big step in the right direction. As the SwissChamber of Commerce in Hong Kong, we will continue to do everything we can to place the interests of our community in the right places.
