Citybus successfully deployed Hong Kong's first hydrogen vehicle to navigate through the road tunnels on 14th July, marking a significant milestone in the city's hydrogen development. This historic event was graced by key government officials, legislative council members, and dedicated supporters of public transport and Citybus, who had the privilege of being the first passengers on this groundbreaking journey. Citybus, alongside Templewater and Hans Energy Company Limited, has tirelessly collaborated with various government departments over the past three years, paving the way for the zero-emission transformation of Hong Kong. With a robust roadmap and regulatory framework, supported by hydrogen funding and subsidies, we are confident that Hong Kong’s hydrogen economy will develop rapidly and establish the city as a global leader in new energy technology. Citybus Celebrates 45 Years of Joyful Journeys! 🎉   Last Friday (12 July), the Citybus family came together in a vibrant 45th birthday bash to commemorate this momentous milestone! Over 400 of our amazing colleagues from the Chong Fu Road and Chai Wan garages joined the party, donning their brightest party hats and celebrating enthusiastically.   It was a lively and engaging occasion from start to finish! Following the fantastic lion dance performance. our Managing Director, Mr Richard HALL, expressed heartfelt gratitude for the unwavering dedication of our employees over the years, and shared his exciting vision for Citybus's future.   The highlight of the celebration was the cake-cutting ceremony - a key moment in Citybus's 45-year history! Our colleagues were all smiles as they gathered around our 3 signature buses - the special sign-written 45th themed bus, the open-top sightseeing bus, and the beautifully refurbished Leyland Olympian 178. Snap, snap - plenty of joyful photos were taken to commemorate this special day!   It was a truly wonderful celebration that brought our Citybus family closer together. We are thrilled to announce that Hans Energy Company Limited (0554.HK) will acquire a 54.44% stake in Citybus Limited’s parent company, Bravo Transport Holdings Limited (BTHL), for HKD 2.72 billion, making them the majority shareholder. This strategic move values BTHL at HKD 5 billion and marks a significant milestone in our journey towards zero-emission public transport. As part of this restructure, Templewater will continue to hold a 30% direct share in BTHL and will also become a minority shareholder in Hans Energy. Our commitment to Citybus remains strong, and our representatives will continue to serve on the boards of BTHL and Citybus, ensuring seamless operations and continued innovation. Mr. Cliff Zhang, our Chairman and CEO, will remain the Chairman of Citybus, leading the way with our highly skilled management team as we embrace new opportunities in the renewable energy sector. On Mother’s Day, we are proud to share a milestone achievement in our commitment to diversity and inclusion. Citybus Limited, a portfolio company of Templewater, has recently been featured in the South China Morning Post SCMP for a landmark addition to our team - Farzana, the first female franchised bus driver from an ethnic minority in Hong Kong! This step is part of our broader initiative to enhance diversity within our workforce. In the past year alone, we've seen a 15-fold increase in applications from candidates of ethnic minority backgrounds and a 60% increase in female applicants for driver positions.
