We are honored that MM has been invited to speak at the Biotech Innovation and Sustainability Forum on Oct 18th as part of the 29th Macao International Trade and Investment Fair (MIF). Experts from Hong Kong, Italy, Macau and other cities in the Greater Bay Area (GBA) discussed cutting-edge technologies and their potential impact on Macau’s economy and diversification goals, and the city’s growing ambitions in the circular economy sector. We are delighted to have the privilege of learning from a diverse group of delegates and the opportunity to share vision of MM and its sustainable solutions.

I was honored to be invited to be one of the conference speakers at the Sustainability Forum hosted by Rethink HK on Sep 13th. I’m excited to have the opportunity to share my thoughts on the challenges of resilient supply chains and sustainability with some of the most well-known industry leaders across multiple industries.

I was honored to collaborate with HKU Business School Executive Education to arrange a sharing session for 40 Youth Ambassadors from a government program (YDC Youth Ambassador Programme 2024) on Sep 7. It was a fruitful and interactive sharing session. I shared my startup journey and mission of sustainability, while they also expressed their keen interest in sustainable development. I hope my sharing can inspire them to promote the positive energy of Hong Kong.

We are thrilled that MM was invited to participate in the Zero-waste design event organized by Hong Kong Design Institute (HKDI). Thanks to HKDI for using our MM as a sustainable leather alternative on stage and showcasing the first costume made from MM #AlternativeLeather. MM supports sustainability! MM supports designers!

We are thrilled that MM has been honored with the "Outstanding ESG solution" award at the Smart Living Partnership Awards on May 30th. Many renowned organizations also participated in this event. We are delighted that MM was taking part and being recognized for its contribution to the ESG sector.

Biodegradability I: How in 2024 it Matters Much More In 2024, it’s more important than ever to achieve our net-zero ambitions and meet the 1.5°C target, especially in cities like Hong Kong that have prevalent consumption patterns. Did you know that waste is the third largest source of Hong Kong’s total carbon emissions? That’s why it’s imperative to adopt biodegradability into our practices. Our contribution towards Hong Kong’s Climate Action Plan 2050 is by pioneering a plastic-free, natural fibre leather alternative for a plethora of use cases, such as fashion accessories, packaging and operating standard equipment for hospitality (OSE). As MM #AlternativeLeather was designed to have a much lower environmental impact than petroleum based leather alternatives and conventional animal leathers on the market. Through our upcycling collaboration with HKRITA - The Hong Kong Research Institute of Textiles and Apparel Limited, we directly use high quality end-of-life hotel bed sheets as one of the main components of our #AlternativeLeather, without the need for shredding and reweaving processes. The difference is where recycling involves a complete breakdown of used items for its basic components to be used for creating a new product, whereas upcycling aspires to create value by retaining as much of the original product as possible and infusing it with a new aesthetic appeal. Through upcycling, we are able to reduce landfill waste whilst balancing the demand for recycling cotton, saving valuable energy and re-use existing resources to extend the lifespan of a cotton sheet.
