We recently had the opportunity to visit UnternehmerTUM at Munich Urban Colab and learn about their first-class innovation ecosystem, activities, and international programmes to help #startups grow and succeed. 🚀 A joint initiative by unternehmerTUM and the City of Munich, the state-of-the-art incubation and innovation space is home to tech giants like Infineon Technologies, SAP, and Siemens, and provides an ideal environment for disruptive start-up ventures to develop sustainable and scalable solutions for the city of tomorrow. 🥇 With notable success stories like Celonis and Flix, it is only fitting that unternehmerTUM was named “Europe’s Leading Start-up Hub” in 2024 by the Financial Times from a list of 125 initiatives in 21 countries, and based on the categories of infrastructure, mentoring & training, legal and business development support, as well as networking and financing opportunities. Nach erfolgreichem Wochenstart in Frankfurt stand am Dienstag bei der IHK Pfalz in Kaiserslautern das Thema #KünstlicheIntelligenz im Fokus. 💡 In einem spannenden Expertengespräch diskutierte Hannes Farlock, Delegierter der Deutschen Wirtschaft in Hongkong, mit Stefan Bredohl vom German Consulate General Hong Kong, Prof. Dr. Andreas Dengel vom Deutsches Forschungszentrum für Künstliche Intelligenz (DFKI), Anne Loos und Toni Drescher vom INC Innovation Center & Hong Kong Industrial Artificial Intelligence and Robotics Centre (FLAIR) und Rafael Pekmezovic, IHK Pfalz International, über den aktuellen Stand in der Forschung, die Wissenschafts- und Innovationsstandorte Deutschland und Hongkong, praktische Anwendungsbeispiele von KI in der Industrie, sowie mögliche Synergien und Risiken im Hinblick auf internationale F&E-Kooperationen. ❗❗ Ein Aspekt, der besonders betont wurde: vielen Menschen fehlt noch immer ein grundlegendes Verständnis über die Potenziale und Grenzen der künstlichen Intelligenz und ihre unmittelbaren Auswirkungen auf die zukünftige Arbeitswelt – das muss sich schnell ändern. Wie verändert #Fintech das Finanzsystem und was bedeutet das für etablierte Banken und Regulatoren? Wo liegen Kooperationsmöglichkeiten? Was macht #Frankfurt und #Hongkong attraktiv für innovative Startups? Und in welchen Bereichen können beide Standorte eventuell voneinander lernen, um sich zukünftig (noch) besser zu positionieren? 🚀 Über diese und viele weitere spannende Fragen diskutierten wir gestern im Rahmen einer gemeinsamen Veranstaltung mit der DZ BANK AG in Frankfurt. Full house at the #GreaterChinaDay2024 in Munich! The biennial flagship conference on 27 June brought together more than 300 participants, including high-level speakers and guests from business, think tanks, and institutions, for a day of comprehensive and candid talks on current trends in Greater China. 🚀 Programme highlights included regional updates from the presidents of the German Chambers in North, East, South & Southwest China, and Hong Kong; keynotes from Prof Dr Sebastian Heilmann and H.E. Dr Patricia Flor; as well as multiple informative and entertaining panel discussions on topics ranging from e-commerce to export control and from data security to future industries. 💬 During a breakout session in the afternoon, we had the opportunity to take stock of Hong Kong’s role as a hub for German business, together with Johannes Hack, Anne Loos, and Stefan Kracht.
