Mr. Angad Banga, Chief Operating Officer for The Caravel Group, has been appointed a Justice of the Peace (JP) by Hong Kong’s Chief Executive. The occasion was marked with an oath taking ceremony (pictured). “I am truly grateful for this honour,” said Mr. Banga. “It is a privilege to serve the community of Hong Kong. The city has given us so much, and my family and I are proud to call it home.” The Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region published the 2024 Honours List and Justices of the Peace appointments on July 1, in which a total of 502 people were recognised this year. Individuals are recognised for their contribution to Hong Kong or dedicated public and community service. JPs are required to perform certain functions, including visiting custodial institutions or detention centres to ensure that such facilities are effectively managed and that no inmate is unfairly treated or deprived of his or her rights.

𝗣𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗲𝘁, 𝘁𝗵𝗲 #𝗙𝗟𝗘𝗘𝗧𝗪𝗮𝘆! In observance of 𝘞𝘰𝘳𝘭𝘥 𝘌𝘯𝘷𝘪𝘳𝘰𝘯𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘋𝘢𝘺 on 5 June and 𝘞𝘰𝘳𝘭𝘥 𝘖𝘤𝘦𝘢𝘯𝘴 𝘋𝘢𝘺 on 8 June, we are proud to reaffirm our commitment to a carbon-neutral future – strategising our operations around reduced pollution and enhancing environmental well-being. Striving to meet the International Maritime Organization (IMO's) decarbonisation objectives, which promises net-zero Green House Gas (GHG) emissions in the shipping industry by 2050, here are some key highlights of our sustainability initiatives over the last year: • We have enhanced our European Union – Emission Trading Systems (EU-ETS) procedures with enhanced comprehensive support for monitoring, reporting, and verifying GHG emissions. • We are also preparing our operations to align with upcoming rules such as the FuelEU Maritime Regulation. • We have upgraded several aspects of our owned and manged vessels in the last year, resulting in a 23% reduction in fuel consumption, helping improve our EEXI across vessels. • Our managed vessel CHEMICAL CHALLENGER was retrofitted with eCowind’s Ventifoil, which will help it reduce CO2 emissions by 10% and fuel consumption by 12% annually. • We signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to jointly conduct a feasibility study with partners to establish a comprehensive and competitive supply chain for the provisioning of green Ammonia ship-to-ship bunkering on the US east coast. • Our new building team has implemented several environmental initiatives including use of LED lights on containers and bulk carriers, implementing propeller boss fin caps to reduce energy loss, incorporating fan ducts for better propulsion efficiency, etc. • Our analytics platform NOVA’s predictive analytics and real-time calculation capabilities helped us improve Carbon Intensity Index (CII) ratings for all ships. …… and more. Over the last year, our initiatives have earned us multiple industry recognised awards and recognitions, re-emphasising our commitment to sustainable shipping. We remain committed to pushing the boundaries of innovation for a cleaner, greener planet. #FLEETStories #maritime #sustainability #shipping
