As announced by the HKSAR Government: "Non-Chinese Hong Kong permanent residents will soon be eligible for a card-type document (Mainland Travel Permits for Hong Kong and Macao Residents (non-Chinese Citizens)) to enhance convenience of clearance at control points of the Mainland, facilitating their visit to the Mainland for business, travelling, and visiting relatives. The Exit and Entry Administration of the country will start issuing the card on July 10.” For further information: https://lnkd.in/gKbJkjnq EuroCham supports these excellent news, which are in line with what we have been asking for over the last year. Until now the Chinese Government has been gradually easing the entry for some European citizens. Nevertheless, other nationalities have not yet benefited from such measures. With today's measure announcement, we see an answer to our requests. Introducing simplicity for foreign visitors to enter China is only the beginning to reactivate and reposition Hong Kong as international hub and gateway to China. We're thrilled to announce Mr Ronald Young’s appointment as the new co-chair of the Sustainable Finance Working Group (SFWG) at The European Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong. Ronald brings a wealth of experience and a profound commitment to sustainable finance, and we're excited to see how his leadership will propel the SFWG to new heights. His expertise in the field aligns with our ongoing initiatives and the mission of encouraging sustainable finance practices within our community. As we welcome Ronald, we also express our gratitude to Yasmine Djeddai, who has been one of the main driving forces behind SFWG since its inception in late 2021. Yasmine's dedication and vision were instrumental in establishing impactful programs like the 'Hong Kong's Got ESG Talent' mentoring initiative, which has already helped over 50 mentees gain valuable insights from senior professionals in the sustainable finance sector. Her contributions extended to numerous engagements within the Hong Kong ESG ecosystem, including ‘The Green Way’, EuroCham's flagship event that bridges sustainability dialogues between the EU, Hong Kong SAR Government and academic circles.
