Tan Sri Dato' Sri Ahmad bin Haji Maarop (an haife shi a ranar 25 ga watan Mayun 1953) lauya ne kuma lauya na Malaysia wanda ya yi aiki a matsayin Shugaban goma na Kotun daukaka kara ta Malaysia (PCA).[1]

An haifi Maarop a Kampung Serkam [ms] [ms], ƙauye a cikin jihar Malacca ta tarihi. Ya yi karatun firamare a makarantar firamare ta Jasin, makarantar firamaren Alor Gajah kuma a ƙarshe makarantar firamaran Bukit Beruang, duk a cikin jiharsa.[1] Maarop daga nan ya halarci Makarantar Dato 'Abdul Razak, makarantar kwana ta farko a Sungai Gadut, Seremban, Negeri Sembilan . Bayan kammala makarantar sakandare, ya karanta doka a Jami'ar Malaya kuma ya sami Bachelor of Laws (Honours) (LL.B. (Hons.)) a cikin 1978.[2]

Ya fara aikinsa na shari'a a matsayin jami'in shari'a da shari'a ne a ranar 8 ga Mayu 1978 kuma tun daga lokacin ya rike mukamai daban-daban, yana aiki a matsayin Alkalin a Betong da Temerloh, Mataimakin Mai gabatar da kara (DPP) na jihar Johor, DPP na Ma'aikatar Kwastam ta Royal Malaysian, Mai ba da Shawara na Shari'a na Perlis, Shugaban Sashin Shari'a ga Penang, Babban Mai ba da shawara na Tarayya na Ma'ar Cikin Gida na Kelantan. A shekara ta 1994, yayin da yake aiki a matsayin mai ba da shawara kan shari'a na jihar Kelantan, an shigar da shi a matsayin mai gabatar da kara da lauya a Babban Kotun a Malaya a Kota Bharu . Daga nan aka sauya shi zuwa hedkwatar Babban Lauyan inda ya yi aiki a matsayin mataimakin darektan sannan daga baya a matsayin Shugaban Sashen, Mai ba da shawara da Sashen Duniya na Babban Lauyan.[3] A ranar 1 ga Oktoba 1998, ya zama ɗaya daga cikin mutane bakwai da Babban Mataimakin Mai gabatar da kara na Malaysia ya nada su a matsayin Babban Lauyan Jama'a.[4] Matsayinsa na karshe a cikin Shari'a da Shari'a shine Kwamishinan Shari'a na Gyara da Gyara Malaysia .[5]

A ranar 1 ga Yuni 2000, an ɗaga shi zuwa kujerar Babban Kotun a matsayin kwamishinan shari'a kuma an sanya shi ya jagoranci Babban Kotun Malaya a Malacca . A ranar 1 ga Maris 2002, an nada shi a matsayin Alkalin Kotun Koli kuma ya yi aiki a Babban Kotun a Malaya a Malacca, Kuala Lumpur da Terengganu . An ɗaukaka shi zuwa kotun daukaka kara a ranar 18 ga watan Yulin shekara ta 2007. A ranar 10 ga watan Agustan shekara ta 2011, ya dauki nadin sa a matsayin Alkalin Kotun Tarayya ta Malaysia .[2][6]

A ranar 1 ga Afrilu 2017, an nada shi a matsayin Babban Alkalin Malaya,[7][8] ya maye gurbin Zulkefli Ahmad Makinudin don zama matsayi na uku mafi girma a Malaysia.

Bayan babban zaben Malaysia na 14 da murabus din Zulkefli, an sake zabar Maarop don karɓar mulki daga Zulkefly, a wannan lokacin ya hau zuwa ofishin shari'a na biyu mafi girma na Malaysia, ya zama Shugaban Kotun daukaka kara ta Malaysia. Yang di-Pertuan Agong (Sarkin Malaysia) ne ya rantsar da shi a ranar 11 ga Yulin 2018.[9][10][11][12] Saboda haka, Maarop a halin yanzu shine jami'in shari'a na biyu mafi girma a Malaysia bayan Babban Alkalin Malaysia.

Maarop ya yi ritaya a matsayin PCA a ranar 24 ga Nuwamba 2019 bayan ya kai shekarun ritaya kamar yadda Kundin Tsarin Mulki na Malaysia ya tsara.[13][14]
