This week I was in @China, @Qufu and @Beijing, for the Confucius-Aristotle Symposium: Ancient Wisdom for Modern Challenges’. As stated during my opening remarks in Qufu, we were honored to host and organize the last three ‘Confucius-Aristotle Symposium: Ancient Wisdom for Modern Challenges’ in Greece 2019 (https://lnkd.in/dCy3ytwJ) 2022 (https://lnkd.in/dSrfxGKs) and 2023 (https://lnkd.in/drTBxd_m) focusing on ancient #wisdom for modern #challenges and identifying common heritage and shared values to promote peace and cooperation in the 21st century. This year, we gathered in China, hosted by the @Nishan World Center for Confucian Studies, the China Confucius Foundation, the Tsinghua University Institute for Advanced Study in Humanities and Social Sciences, and the Mencius Foundation, to honor #Confucius and the global impact of ancient Chinese civilization. The focus was on the common approaches of #Aristotle, Confucius, and other traditions and exploring their meaning for our time. 150 world-famous scholars and leaders from over 10 countries gathered to discuss the contemporary relevance of Confucianism and Aristotelianism, comparative philosophy, global ethics, and the theory and practice of "the commons." Topics spanned cultural dialogue, classical studies, political philosophy, ecology, religion, artificial intelligence, and public policy. Sustainable Development Solutions Network

I am excited to announce the launch of the 2024 Sustainable Development Report #SDR2024: The SDGs and the UN Summit of the Future, which I am thrilled to endorse with my signature! The 9th edition includes the SDG Index and Dashboards, providing the most up-to-date data to track and rank the performance of all UN Member States on the #SDGs. This edition also introduces a new Index measuring countries' support for UN-based multilateralism across all 193 UN Member States, alongside new FABLE pathways demonstrating how to achieve sustainable food and land systems by mid-century. Excited to have addressed #genderequality at the "Breaking the Glass Ceiling - Women in Positions of Power" event organized by the European Commission Representation in Greece EU Youth Hub last week.
