SNF Co-President Andreas Dracopoulos has announced a new two-year, €11 million grant to the Greek National Opera (GNO), continuing SNF’s longstanding commitment to the organization. This support aims to enhance the GNO's artistic outreach both in Greece and internationally. In addition, GNO Artistic Director Giorgos Koumentakis unveiled the full 2024/25 program, titled Transcending the Limits, which will be supported by this new grant from SNF. The Stavros Niarchos Foundation Bioethics Academy (SNFBA), which aims to expand awareness of bioethics in Greece, recently gathered program alumni at the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center in Athens in furtherance of its mission of fostering a robust, self-sustaining bioethics community in Greece. This week, we welcomed 17 SNF Paideia Fellows from the University of Pennsylvania to SNF’s headquarters in Athens! This exceptional group visited to share their experiences and learn more about our diverse initiatives beyond the SNF Paideia Program. SNF supports pediatric cancer patients worldwide. Through a grant made as part of the Foundation's Global Health Initiative (GHI) to create the SNF Global Pediatric Cancer Program, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK) is bringing its deep expertise in pediatric oncology to patients around the globe, establishing new collaborations and peer exchanges with hospitals and health care providers worldwide.

As part of the 2024 Healthcare Design Congress, held at the Royal College of Physicians in London from June 10-12, a discussion on "A different way of working in healthcare between the private and public sectors" featured SNF Chief Operating Officer Panos Papoulias, Global Health Initiative (GHI) Director Elianna Konialis, Hellenic Deputy Minister of Health Marios Themistocles, and Mark Carroll and Raffaella Parodi of Renzo Piano Building Workshop. The panel discussed the vision of the GHI, the importance of public-private partnerships, and the role of philanthropic foundations in future health care projects.
