Two innovative solutions recently implemented by VINCI Highways just received prestigious awards from Intertraffic and ITS. This brings positive recognition to our commitment to increase highway efficiency and highlights the role of our VINCI Concessions' Innovation Centre for road safety in Lima to pioneer new ideas for the whole network. Congrats to the teams involved and to the ones currently scaling up these solutions across our network! 👉 AI for Incident Detection on LIMA EXPRESA in Peru received the Inspiration Award at Intertraffic 2024. This system developed with Valerann enhances safety by rapidly detecting incidents, ensuring swift responses and minimizing disruptions. 👉 Adaptive Lighting on Olympia Odos (Athens, Korinthos, Patra, Pyrgos motorway) in Greece received the Award Mobility at the ITS-STI Canada (Intelligent Transportation Systems Society of Canada) Awards Celebration 2024. Η Ολυμπία Οδός υποδέχτηκε σήμερα τον Υπουργό Υποδομών & Μεταφορών, κ. Christos Staikouras, τον Υφυπουργό Υποδομών, κ. Nikolaos Tachiaos, και υπηρεσιακούς παράγοντες στο Κέντρο Λειτουργίας του Ρίου.  Ο Πρόεδρος & Διευθύνων Σύμβουλος, κ. Panayiotis Papanikolas ενημέρωσε την πολιτική ηγεσία για την πρόοδο των κατασκευαστικών εργασιών 🏗️ της Πατρών- Πύργου, η οποία έχει ξεπεράσει το 50%📈, παρουσία εκπροσώπων των αρμόδιων κατασκευαστών (AVAX, ΑΚΤΩΡ, ΤΕΡΝΑ). 🔸Όπως δήλωσε ο Π. Παπανικόλας: «Είμαστε όλοι αφοσιωμένοι στον στόχο: Να παραδώσουμε το νέο αυτοκινητόδρομο Πατρών -Πύργου το συντομότερο δυνατό.   Σήμερα εργάζονται στην κατασκευή της Πατρών- Πύργου 1.000 άτομα 👷, ενώ η έμμεση απασχόληση υπολογίζεται σε επιπλέον ~2.000 θέσεις εργασίας.  Αυτοί οι άνθρωποι έχουν πετύχει το ποσοστό προόδου που παρουσίασε ο υπουργός. Ήδη το 30% του δρόμου έχει τελική διάστρωση ασφάλτου🛣, βλέπουμε μαύρη άσφαλτο εκεί που πριν από λίγους μήνες ήταν χωράφια.  Υπερβαίνουμε καθημερινά προκλήσεις της κατασκευής και δίνουμε λύσεις με λογική, σύνεση και ομοψυχία.  Έχουμε σηκώσει τα μανίκια και προχωράμε.» ---- Olympia Odos welcomed today the Minister of Infrastructure & Transport, Mr. Christos Staikouras, the Deputy Minister of Infrastructure, Mr. Nikolaos Tachiaos, and officials at the Operations Center of Rio. The Chairman & CEO, Mr. Panayiotis Papanikolas, briefed the political leadership on the progress of the Patras-Pyrgos construction works 🏗️ , which has exceeded 50%📈, in the presence of representatives from the responsible construction companies (AVAX, AKTOR, TERNA). 🔸As Mr. Papanikolas stated: "We are all dedicated to the goal: To deliver the new Patras-Pyrgos highway as soon as possible. Today, 1,000 people 👷 are working on the construction of the Patras-Pyrgos highway, while indirect employment is estimated at an additional ~2,000 jobs. These people have achieved the progress rate presented by the minister. Already, 30% of the road has its final asphalt layer🛣, we see black asphalt where a few months ago there were fields. We are everyday overcoming construction challenges and providing solutions with logic, prudence, and unity. Διάκριση στα Environment Awards 2024 του Ομίλου VINCI για το νέο καινοτόμο project της Ολυμπίας Οδού "Προσαρμοστικός φωτισμός ημέρας για κάτω διαβάσεις" What’s that? 🤔 Ο Grigoris Chasanis, Electromechanical, Tolling, IT Manager, παρέλαβε το βραβείο και μας εξηγεί: Ορισμένες κάτω διαβάσεις του αυτοκινητόδρομου είναι εξοπλισμένες με φωτισμό ημέρας, ο οποίος λειτουργεί κατά την διάρκεια της ημέρας μόνον, και βοηθά το μάτι του οδηγού να προσαρμοστεί με το φως του ήλιου☀️. Τα φώτα ημέρας έχουν συνήθως 2 φορές ή περισσότερο την ισχύ του νυχτερινού φωτός, επομένως υπάρχει ένα σημαντικό ποσό ενέργειας⚡που αξίζει να εξοικονομηθεί. Η Ολυμπία Οδός έχει ήδη εγκαταστήσει μετεωρολογικούς σταθμούς εξοπλισμένους με αισθητήρες φωτισμού στους κόμβους του αυτοκινητόδρομου. Χρησιμοποιώντας λοιπόν τις ενδείξεις για το ηλιακό φως αυτών, θα προσαρμόζει κατάλληλα τoν φωτισμό ημέρας στις υπόγειες διαβάσεις, ανάλογα με το αν ο καιρός είναι συννεφιασμένος 🌧️ ή ηλιόλουστος🌞. Αναμενόμενο αποτέλεσμα: 🟢 3,5 τόνοι CO2 λιγότεροι ετησίως 🌿 Η Ολυμπία Οδός έχει ήδη δοκιμάσει αυτή τη λύση στο εργαστήριο και τώρα και βρίσκεται στην διαδικασία των εγκρίσεων από τις αρμόδιες αρχές. 📢Shout out στους συνεργάτες μας National Technical University of Athens, Lighting Laboratory, #BRSTechnologies, Specialized Lighting Consultant και Extrabit LP, Control, Platform. --- Distinction at the VINCI Group Environment Awards 20204 for the new innovative project of Olympia Odos "Adaptive Daytime Lighting for Underpasses" What’s that? 🤔 Grigoris Chasanis, Electromechanical, Tolling, IT Manager, received the award and explains: Several highway underpasses are equipped with daytime lighting which turns on during daytime only, in order to help the driver’s eye adjust with the sunlight☀️. Daytime lights have usually 2 times or more the power of the night-time light so there is a substantial amount of energy⚡worth to be saved. Olympia Odos has already installed weather stations equipped with illuminance sensors at the highway interchanges and -using the illuminance readings- will adjust the daytime lighting of the underpasses depending on if the weather is cloudy 🌧️or sunny🌞.
