🆕 #training_platform_activation ✅ 🤝 NATO Maritime Interdiction Operational Training Centre proudly announces the activation of its latest training platform, HS #LYKOUDIS, with the invaluable support of the 🇬🇷 Hellenic Navy General Staff (#HNGS) and the 🇬🇷 #Souda_Naval_Base. 📷 Along with 2️⃣ new classrooms (isoboxes) in the adjacent training area, with a capacity of 1️⃣8️⃣ persons each, the new platform will enhance NMIOTC’s capabilities to deliver cutting-edge training for #maritime_interdiction, in support of global security efforts. ⚓️ HS LYKOUDIS is designed to replicate realistic maritime #scenarios, allowing NMIOTC to conduct a wide range of exercises from counter-piracy and counter-terrorism to the interception of illicit trafficking. 💣 From 21st to 25th October 2024, the Course 14000 “Maritime IED Disposal (M-IEDD)” was conducted at #NMIOTC’s premises. ⚓️ The aim of this course was to educate and train EOD personnel to competently undertake IEDD Operations on-board vessels and other Maritime Infrastructure in support of C-IED and related operations. 🌊 The training covered the subject concepts; philosophy, principles, equipment, ship insertion and Maritime-focused IEDD methodologies, as well as best practices in the Maritime environment. 🇬🇷 🇭🇺 🇮🇪 🇲🇹 🇵🇹 🇬🇧 🌐 In total, 1️⃣7️⃣ trainees from 6️⃣ countries (Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Malta, Portugal and United Kingdom) and 4️⃣ augmenters from 🇺🇸 US Army & 🇬🇷 Hellenic Police Hellenic Police Bomb Squad, participated in the course. 📰 Press Release: https://bit.ly/3YxJiLC #WeAreNATO | #iedd | #eod | #c_ied

🆕🤝 Last week, NMIOTC run the pilot iteration of the Course 24000 “Building Up Interoperable Capabilities for NATO Ops and the Role of #MIO”, at the Centre's premises. 📑 The aim of the course is to provide comprehensive knowledge to facilitate understanding of the procedures for building up #interoperable_capabilities between #NATO Allies. 📍 Specialized Training Complex Tsrancha, Bulgaria 🇧🇬 ℹ️ In September 2024, the NATO Maritime Interdiction Operational Training Centre contributed with 1️⃣ Subject Matter Expert (#SME) as Instructor to the SOF “Medical Instructor Development and Tactical Combat Casualty Care Instructor Course”, led by the NATO SOF Headquarters Medical Mobile Training Team in Bulgaria. 🩸⚔️ The course aims to educate students on the importance of requirements analysis for SOF medical #training, instructional design, skill acquisition in non-permissive environments, scenario based training and the wide range of debriefing that #SOF #MED personnel often have to undertake. 🎖 NMIOTC has been the first NATO Education and Training Facility (#NETF) to receive National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians (#NAEMT) certification. 🇳🇱 ⚓️ From 30th of September to 18th of October 2024, the Royal Netherlands Navy #Fleet_Marine_Squadron conducted a tailored training comprised of over twenty different modules, including C-IED, #VBSS, combat medical and crew control. ⚔️🛡 The 2️⃣4️⃣ participants were at the NATO Maritime Interdiction Operational Training Centre for fifteen training days, including four days of exercises tailored to their unit’s specialization and requirements. 💥 Last week, the Resident Course 12000 “C-IED in Maritime Interdiction Operations” was conducted at the NMIOTC premises. This #NATO_Approved Course fills an operational gap in capability and contributes to operations conducted by #Boarding_Teams when searching and exploiting evidence, which are fundamental to the #C_IED process. ⚓️ The aim is to train Boarding Team personnel in NATO TTPs (Tactics, Technics and Procedures) to undertake expedient weapons intelligence tasks on board vessels and other maritime infrastructure in support of C-IED operations. 🇩🇿 🇬🇷 🇮🇪 🇲🇹 🇶🇦 🇹🇳 🇺🇦 🇺🇸 🌍 In total, 1️⃣5️⃣ trainees from 8️⃣ countries (Algeria, Greece, Ireland, Malta, Qatar, Tunisia, Ukraine and USA) attended the course. 👉 Training was delivered with the participation of Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) from the 🇭🇺 Magyar Honvédség Altiszti Akadémia (NCO Academy, Hungarian Defence Forces) and 🇬🇷 Hellenic Police, in cooperation with #NMIOTC Sea Instructors. 📰 Press Release: https://bit.ly/4eRGhwN #WeAreNATO
