The Institute for Language and Speech Processing (ILSP) is a leading R&D institute within the "Athena" Research and Innovation Center in Information, Communication and Knowledge Technologies. It is a centre of excellence for basic and applied research in the field of Language Technologies (LT). ILSP conducts interdisciplinary research, drawing on two traditions, namely linguistics and information technologies. Its activities cover all aspects of the Language Technologies spectrum, from linguistic studies to signal processing. The main areas that form ILSP’s research agenda are: Language Development and Assessment Embodied Language Processing Multilingual Content Processing Multimedia Processing Natural Language Processing Speech and Music Technology Sign Language Technologies Technology-Enhanced Language Learning Digital Cultural Archives To complement and support its research efforts in these areas, ILSP continuously invests in developing its Language Resources Infrastructure.

Στην ημερίδα του Κόμβου Ψηφιακής Καινοτομίας Smart Attica European Digital Innovation Hub που διοργανώθηκε σήμερα, 25/09/2024 στην Ξάνθη, με την υποστήριξη του #ΙΕΛ, Athena Research Center, είχαμε την ευκαιρία να παρουσιάσουμε τις υπηρεσίες και τους στόχους του έργου, όπως και τις δράσεις του ΕΚ Αθηνά στον τομέα του Πολιτισμού και του Τουρισμού. Τεχνολογίες για διαδραστικές περιηγήσεις σε σημεία ενδιαφέροντος της Περιφέρειας Ανατολικής Μακεδονίας Θράκης, ψηφιακοί ξεναγοί, chatbots, υποβοήθηση για την τεκμηρίωση εκθεμάτων και μνημείων είναι κάποιες από τις ιδέες και ανάγκες που μοιράστηκαν μαζί μας φορείς και επιχειρήσεις που δραστηριοποιούνται στην περιοχή.
Η ψηφιακή και πράσινη μετάβαση των περιφερειών έχει ειδικές προκλήσεις που χρήζουν στοχευμένων παρεμβάσεων. Στην ημερίδα του Κόμβου Ψηφιακής Καινοτομίας GRdigiGOV innoHUB και της εμβληματικής δράσης #JustReDi που διοργανώθηκε χθες, 24/09/2024 στην Κομοτηνή, με την υποστήριξη του #ΙΕΛ, Athena Research Center είχαμε την ευκαιρία να παρουσιάσουμε τις υπηρεσίες και τους στόχους των δύο έργων αλλά, πρωτίστως, να μάθουμε από τους τοπικούς παράγοντες, να σταχυολογήσουμε ανάγκες και ιδέες. Ευχαριστούμε θερμά την Περιφέρεια Ανατολικής Μακεδονίας Θράκης για τη φιλοξενία και τους συμμετέχοντες για την ουσιαστική συμβολή τους.
