We are thrilled to announce that our recent work on battery aging using electrochemical and thermal modeling of the entire pack has been selected to appear in the SAE International online journal, “International Journal of Advances and Current Practices in Mobility,” which publishes the very best papers from the SAE events. This collaborative work with the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH) appeared initially at the SAE International 2024 WCX ™ Conference under “Modeling the Impact of Thermal Management on Time and Space-Resolved Battery Degradation Rate.” Our drive for mobility research, fully charged! We are ready to put non-exhaust emissions on the test track! Representatives from the European Tyre & Rubber Manufacturer’s Association (ETRMA), Michelin, Continental, Goodyear, Pirelli, and Bridgestone attended the technical kickoff meeting of the Tyre Road Wear Particles (TRWP) measurement project at Thessaloniki last week. Our team, in collaboration with the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, has undertaken this eminent two-year project on non-exhaust emissions measurement. The kickoff meeting marked a promising beginning, including the project’s outline presentation and the finalization of the selected solution before implementing it on the test track. #Emisia #Emisia_Emissions #tyreparticles

Proud moments, exciting discussions, meetups with distinguished transport experts. The CO₂ Reduction for Transportation Systems Conference had it all! During his keynote speech, Professor Zissis Samaras presented the key role of the Life Cycle Analysis for the road transport environmental regulations and a comprehensive LCA methodology highlighting the importance of the approach and the main challenges of its application. The presented case study for a BEV showed the importance of considering parameters such as traffic conditions, auxiliary consumption, and realistic mileage for the calculation of use phase CO₂ emissions. The presentation gathered a lot of attention and acceptance from the audience and triggered a constructive Q&A session, which continued outside the presentation room. EMISIA's contribution was also enhanced by the exceptional presentation of our transport expert, Stylianos (Stelios) Doulgeris, “Definition of a Rule-Based Energy Management Controller for the Simulation of a Plug-In Hybrid Vehicle Using Power and On-Board Measured Data”.

Good news coming from Mainz, Germany! Our transport expert, Traianos Karageorgiou, participated in the Eurobrake 2024, the world’s largest annual event for the brake and friction industry, to present his #technicalpaper about the impact of brake emissions from light-duty vehicles in Europe and to highlight the benefits that the #Euro7 regulation will bring. #Emisia #Emisia_Emissions #Eurobrake

Happening now! Our transport expert, Giannis Papadimitriou, Ph.D., has joined the centralized review of the NECD, that will set national emission reduction commitments for EU member states for nitrogen oxides (NOx), non-methane volatile organic compounds (NMVOCs), sulphur dioxide (SO2), ammonia (NH3), and fine particulate matter (PM2.5). The review takes place in Brussels, 17-21 June. #Emisia #emissionexperts #Emisia_Emissions
