Gallup Research (2017): 🏆 Lack of Recognition: Employees who do not receive recognition for their work feel frustrated and disempowered. 🎯 Unclear Expectations: Lack of clarity in goals and expectations can lead to anxiety and confusion. 😶 Poor Management: Poor leadership and lack of support from supervisors reduce employee motivation. Deloitte Research (2019): 😩 Overwork: Excessive workload and lack of work-life balance lead to burnout. 📚 Inadequate Development Opportunities: Employees who do not see opportunities for professional growth and advancement are more likely to feel frustrated and disempowered. 💣 Toxic Work Environment: Poor workplace relationships and a toxic work environment can reduce job satisfaction and motivation.     Can KPIs and OKRs kill your team's accountability? According to Tony Schwartz, a performance-driven culture may not be as productive as we think.  As he states, in the HBR article below (link at first comment): “A performance culture asks, ‘How much energy can we mobilize?’ and the answer is only a finite amount. A growth culture asks, ‘How much energy can we liberate?’ and the answer is infinite.” As we have seen it in our work with teams and leaders, #accountability emerges when we provide the space and autonomy to take ownership of their work. Diminishing rigid controls and fostering a culture of trust and empowerment, can unlock a level of accountability that drives innovation and performance. But to do that we need as #leaders to endure a level of uncertainty. As systemic interveners we see accountability as an opportunity for development not just for the individual, but also the leaders and the organizational culture. Are there cases where we need a different roadmap to develop accountability? What do we do when strict controls are part of keeping people and planet safe? We have a secret sauce for these cases.     👩💼 🧑💼 Το Junior Achievement Greece στις Ημέρες Καριέρας!    Για πρώτη φορά το JA Greece συμμετείχε ενεργά στη διήμερη δράση «Welcome 2024» στο Σεράφειο Δήμου Αθηναίων - Serafio City of Athens.     🗓️  Η πρώτη ημέρα ήταν αφιερωμένη στις επιχειρήσεις και εστίασε σε βιωματικά εργαστήρια για την χαρτογράφηση και κατανόηση του προσφυγικού και μεταναστευτικού πληθυσμού στην Ελλάδα και την ένταξή του στο εργασιακό περιβάλλον. Το Junior Achievement πραγματοποίησε εργαστήριο για τη διαχείριση της ματαίωσης λόγω της συχνής εναλλαγής προσωπικού, μέσα από την ανάπτυξη δεξιοτήτων ανθεκτικότητας (Marianthi Karatza).    🗓️  Τη δεύτερη ημέρα, περισσότερες από τριάντα εταιρείες συναντήθηκαν με υποψήφιους/ες εργαζόμενους/ες και διεξήγαγαν συνεντεύξεις στο περίπτερό τους. Σε παράλληλες δράσεις, το JA παρουσίασε το πρόγραμμα επαγγελματικού προσανατολισμού Youth Achieve (To πρόγραμμα υλοποιείται στο πλαίσιο του Προγράμματος «Όλα τα Παιδιά στην Εκπαίδευση», μια πρωτοβουλία του Υπουργείο Μετανάστευσης & Ασύλου - Greek Ministry of Migration & Asylum και της UNICEF Greece σε συνεργασία με συγχρηματοδότηση από την Ευρωπαϊκή Ένωση και σε συντονισμό με σειρά εταίρων, μεταξύ των οποίων το Junior Achievement.) Η δράση «Welcome 2024» υλοποιήθηκε με πρωτοβουλία της Ομάδας Εργασίας Ανάπτυξης Δεξιοτήτων & Πρόσβασης στην Αγορά Εργασίας του Κέντρου Συντονισμού του Δήμου Αθηναίων για θέματα Μεταναστών και Προσφύγων (ACCMR - Athens Coordination Center for Migrant & Refugee issues), με την υποστήριξη του Διεθνούς Οργανισμού Μετανάστευσης (IOM Greece) στο πλαίσιο του HELIOS Project και της Ύπατης Αρμοστείας του ΟΗΕ για τους Πρόσφυγες (UNHCR GREECE), και τη συμμετοχή πολλών φορέων και οργανώσεων που στηρίζουν την ένταξη.    #JuniorAchievementGreece #WELCOME2024 #CareerDays #Opportunities

    🌈 Are We Truly Embracing Diversity? Exploring Complexity and Hidden Barriers in the Workplace 🌟 It's a topic we're all familiar with: inclusion and diversity in the workplace. We've heard the speeches, read the articles, and attended the workshops. But how often do we truly practice what we preach? Consider this: how do we respond to behaviors that may be connected with hidden autism? Do we dismiss them as quirks or idiosyncrasies, or do we take the time to understand and accommodate them? Perhaps it's the colleague who struggles with social interactions, the one who prefers to work alone in a quiet corner, or the one who meticulously follows routines and rituals. The difficulty in understanding social norms can often act as a barrier, leading others to perceive them as uninterested in connecting with their peers. However, the truth is far from it. Many individuals with hidden autism have a deep desire for connection and belonging, but find it challenging to navigate the intricacies of social engagement. It's not that they prefer to be alone; rather, they may find it difficult and overwhelming to initiate or maintain social interactions. And what about those colleagues who seem to be on the fringes, the ones who don't quite fit the mold? Do we actively include them in our team activities and decision-making processes, or do we inadvertently exclude them through our unconscious biases and preferences? It could be the colleague who comes from a different background, the one who expresses their ideas in a way that's unfamiliar to us, or the one who challenges the status quo with unconventional perspectives. How do we make them feel valued and heard? In our quest to foster a culture of inclusion and belonging, it's imperative that we not only talk the talk but also walk the walk. But how do we ensure that our actions align with our intentions? How do we actively cultivate an environment where everyone feels valued, respected, and included? One way to start is by incorporating a daily reflection exercise into our routine. Take a few moments each day to pause and reflect on your interactions with colleagues and teammates. Ask yourself: 🔍 Did I actively listen to and consider the perspectives of others today? 🌟 Did I make space for everyone to contribute to the conversation? 🤝 Did I seek out opportunities to connect with colleagues who may feel marginalized or excluded? 💬 Did I challenge my own assumptions and biases, and remain open to learning from others? 🌱 Did I take steps to create a supportive and inclusive environment for everyone on the team? So, let's challenge ourselves to see our team fellows with new eyes. Let's strive to create a workplace where everyone feels seen, heard, and valued for who they are. Because true inclusion and diversity aren't just buzzwords—they're the foundation of a thriving, innovative, and resilient team. 🌟
