Our "Alphabet of Economics" financial literacy programme has successfully trained, in cooperation with Cyprus Pedagogical Institute, hundreds of teachers and introduced thousands of students in Cyprus to #FinancialLiteracy and #ActiveCitizenship concepts.   Since 2019, this program has been implemented across Cyprus by #ActionAidHellas, with funding from the EIB Institute after two years of implementation in Greece. Η Συμβουλευτική Εύρεσης Εργασίας και η Συμβουλευτική Επαγγελματικού Προσανατολισμού Εφήβων προσφέρουν δωρεάν υποστήριξη στην εύρεση εργασίας και στην ανάπτυξη γνώσεων και δεξιοτήτων.   Από το 2017:   📍 1.672 ωφελούμενοι επισκέφθηκαν τη Συμβουλευτική Εύρεσης Εργασίας 📚 Πραγματοποιήθηκαν 4.413 ατομικές συνεδρίες 💻 Έγιναν περισσότερες από 1.000 παραπομπές σε εργοδότες ☑️ Βρέθηκαν περισσότερες από 660 θέσεις εργασίας   Οι υπηρεσίες συμβουλευτικής επαγγελματικού προσανατολισμού και εύρεσης εργασίας για το 2023-2024 πραγματοποιήθηκαν με την υποστήριξη του John S. We are honored to announce that our #AlphabetOfEconomics programme, received a Gold Award at the 2024 Hellenic Responsible Business Awards for advancing the "Quality Education" SDG and another three as part of Alpha Bank IQonomy CSR initiative in the #FinancialLiteracy pillar for advancing the "No Poverty" SDG.    Further to this, Elias Galinos, PhD, a member of our Governing Board, and Katerina Velliou, Development Coordinator at #ActionAidHellas, actively participated to the initiative as member of the Judging Committee and awardee, respectively.   The awards highlight our commitment to promote active citizenship and create sustainable solutions for the community through quality education. Day 5 in #Tanzania with #ActionAidHellas: a day of inclusivity through sports and play. On a bright and spirited day, the fields of Chamwino district in Tanzania echoed with laughter and camaraderie as children, supporters of ActionAid Hellas and staff of Actionaid Tanzania came together for a memorable day of sports and play. The event was part of a broader initiative aimed at promoting inclusivity and solidarity within the local community. The games were designed to be accessible to all, ensuring that every child, regardless of their abilities, could join in. The children's smiles reflect the spirit of the initiative in fostering a sense of belonging and mutual respect among the participants. 📚 Day 4 in #Tanzania with #ActionAidHellas: it’s all about creating opportunities for children to dream and achieve! Today, our journey brought us to a school where the impact of our work in education is truly visible. The first image shows a classroom before our intervention: limited resources and a challenging learning environment for the children. The second image showcases the transformation: a bright, well-furnished classroom providing a conducive atmosphere for learning and growth. This is not just about renovating buildings; it’s about creating opportunities for children to dream and achieve since every child wants to graduate primary school in the second classroom. Day 3 in #Tanzania with #ActionAidHellas: A celebration of collaboration and cultural exchange! Our 45 Greek and Cypriot supporters teamed up with locals to prepare delicious meals for everyone working hard to construct a new Water Hygiene and Sanitation (WASH) network at a primary school in #Chamwino district. Day 2 in #Tanzania with #ActionAidHellas: It’s all about hands-on work! The Greek and Cypriot supporters teamed up with locals to provide children with secure, dignified, inclusive, and reliable school Water Hygiene and Sanitation (WASH) brand new services to almost 500 students and teachers. It was incredible to see everyone come together to create this essential infrastructure that will prevent the spread of diseases and promote healthy hygiene practices among children at school, contributing to boosting students’ self-esteem. Our first day has been a remarkable experience filled with warmth, culture, joy, and meaningful connections - a powerful reminder of why we do what we do. 🔴A Warm Welcome: We were greeted with open arms and heartfelt smiles by the local people. The hospitality and kindness we received were truly touching, setting the tone for an unforgettable trip. 🔴Embracing Culture and Traditions: We witnessed and engaged with the rich cultural traditions of the local communities. This connection to their heritage is a testament to their enduring spirit and identity. 🔴Resilience and Happiness: Despite the challenges, the spirit of resilience and happiness shines brightly. The community’s strength and positivity are truly inspiring and remind us of the power of perseverance. 🔴Togetherness through Play: There’s nothing quite like the joy of playing together. Football and 'Ring a Ring o' Roses' brought us all closer, transcending language and cultural barriers, and creating bonds that will last a lifetime. 🔴Let the Child Sponsors Meet the Children and Families: One of the most profound moments was meeting the children and families we support through the child sponsorship programme. Seeing the impact of our efforts firsthand was incredibly rewarding and heartwarming. Ανοιχτό Κέντρο Στήριξης Κατοίκων της Βόρειας Εύβοιας: 2 χρόνια, 62 χωριά, 44 σχολεία, σχεδόν 4.000 κάτοικοι και πάνω από 2.500 ώρες εργαστηρίων. Γιορτάσαμε την ολοκλήρωση του έργου μας σε μία ολοήμερη εκδήλωση μαζί με τους κατοίκους της τοπικής κοινωνίας. Ξεκινήσαμε με πολλή δημιουργική διάθεση, με την εκπαιδευτική δραστηριότητα του Κινητού Σχολείου του Δάσους και συνεχίσαμε με μία περιήγηση στη Λίμνη Ευβοίας σε δύο σημαντικούς σταθμούς του ηχητικού ντοκιμαντέρ Evoia Hope Road, γνωρίζοντας τις ξεχωριστές ιστορίες των ανθρώπων και του τόπου. Η ημέρα ολοκληρώθηκε στο Κινηματοθέατρο «Ελύμνιον» όπου μιλήσαμε για τα όσα μαζί έχουμε καταφέρει κατά τη διάρκεια της λειτουργίας του Κέντρου και γιορτάσαμε με φαγητό και μουσική. Νιώθουμε ευγνωμοσύνη για τα όσα πετύχαμε, συμβάλλοντας στην προσπάθεια για την αναγέννηση του τόπου.   🔹 Το Ανοιχτό Κέντρο Στήριξης Κατοίκων της Βόρειας Εύβοιας δημιουργήθηκε και λειτούργησε από το 2022 έως το 2024, από την #ActionAid με αποκλειστική δωρεά του Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF), στο πλαίσιο της Πρωτοβουλίας Στήριξης της Βόρειας Εύβοιας του ΙΣΝ.
