CD11a
O CD11a (cluster de diferenciación 11a) ou cadea alfa L de integrina é unha subunidade proteica da superficie de leucocitos codificada no xene ITGAL humano do cromosoma 16. Está implicado na adhesión celular e sinalización coestimulatoria. É a diana do fármaco efalizumab.
O xene ITGAL codifica a cadea alfa L de integrina. As integrinas son proteínas integrais de membrana heterodímeras compostas por unha cadea alfa e outra beta. Este dominio I que contén a alfa integrina combínase coa cadea beta 2 ou CD18 (ITGB2) para formar o antíxeno asociado á función do linfocito 1 (LFA-1), que se expresa en todos os linfocitos. O LFA-1 xoga un papel central na adhesión intercelular de leucocitos por medio de interaccións cos seus ligandos, as ICAMs 1-3 (moléculas de adhesión intercelular 1 á 3), e tamén funciona na sinalización coestimulatoria de linfocitos.[1]
O Efalizumab actúa como inmunosupresor ao unirse ao CD11a.
