𝐑𝐨𝐲𝐚𝐥 𝐆𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐧𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐚𝐭 𝐌𝐒𝐂 𝐅𝐢𝐬𝐡 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐅𝐮𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐅𝐨𝐫𝐮𝐦 𝐢𝐧 𝐐𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐝𝐚𝐨, 𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐚! 🐟🌊 Royal Greenland’s EVP of Marketing, CSR & Sustainability, Joanna Hutchins, spoke at the Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) Fish for Future Forum at the 2024 China Seafood Fisheries Expo in Qingdao. Joining global industry leaders, Joanna highlighted Royal Greenland’s commitment to advancing sustainable seafood practices in a rapidly evolving market. The Forum addressed both challenges and opportunities for sustainable seafood with MSC representatives from Europe, Australia, and Asia. Expert representatives and keynote speakers shared insights and discussed about issues impacting seafood sourcing and consumption in China, from climate change to health concerns. Recent data shows that while 62% of people in China are striving for more eco-friendly diets, most still consume less than one portion of fish per week—an important opportunity for the industry to drive greater impact (https://lnkd.in/dj8YZN6U) To learn more about Royal Greenland's sustainable practices, visit our website: https://lnkd.in/dciiHeM #RoyalGreenland #MSC #sustainablefishing #responsiblefishing #fisheryleadership

🎉 𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐜𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐆𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐧𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐇𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐛𝐮𝐭, 𝐑𝐨𝐲𝐚𝐥 𝐆𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐧𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐝’𝐬 𝐭𝐨𝐩-𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐭, 𝐚𝐭 𝐂𝐅𝐒𝐄 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟒! 🐟 Introducing Royal Greenland's Greenland Halibut at the China fisheries and seafood expo! This year at CFSE 2024, Royal Greenland is showcasing its unique Greenland Halibut to China’s seafood industry and seafood fans. Greenland Halibut as a unique cold-water fish is often mistaken for Atlantic Halibut. Greenland halibut is a rarer species habituated in deep ice-cold clean waters of North Atlantic and Arctic Ocean, making it difficult to farm. Our wild-caught Greenland Halibut is responsibly fished and produced with Royal Greenland’s sustainable fishing method and high-quality production standard. Greenland halibut is rich in Omega-3 fatty acids, with a soft, tender texture that stays juicy and is easy to cook in many ways—whether you serve it raw, grill it, bake it, pan-fry it, or smoke it. Its beautiful white color and mild, buttery flavor make it a favorite for chefs and home cooks alike. 🍣 🍜🥗 🐟 It is our great pleasure to bring to you the unique experience of Greenland through our Greenland Halibut’s delicate taste! Share your experience with Royal Greenland’s cold-water seafood! 😃 More about Greenland Halibut recipes: https://lnkd.in/e9E75_Az More about the event: https://lnkd.in/e4uVPyH5 #RoyalGreenland #CFSE2024 #GreenlandHalibut #QualitySeafood #ArcticSeafood #Omega3

Great insights shared by our EVP Sales Robert-Jan Treebus, on Mercadona’s customer-first approach and Spain's seafood market leadership!
Almost a year into this role, and I’m learning every day! I recently visited Mercadona in Valencia, Spain, to explore why Spaniards are among Europe’s top 5 seafood consumers and how Mercadona maintains its market leadership. Thanks to Søren and Mariángeles, we saw their customer-first approach and flawless execution in every store. Clean spaces, wide aisles, a balanced assortment, and competitive prices are key to their success. Spanish consumers love bacalao (salted cod), rich in protein and vitamin B12, with 70 grams of protein per 100 grams when salted. Royal Greenland 🇬🇱 is proud and humbled to be (a small) part of Mercadona’s journey!

🌊 𝐑𝐞𝐟𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐍𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐢𝐜 𝐬𝐞𝐚𝐰𝐞𝐞𝐝 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟒 𝐢𝐧 𝐆𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐚𝐚, 𝐃𝐞𝐧𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐤! 🌿 Our colleague Kristian Ottesen recently presented on an exciting topic: “From research to commercialization – Is being a multinational corporation the answer for creating success in the seaweed industry?” 🌿 Kristian shared how Royal Greenland’s seaweed cultivation efforts support our mission to drive employment, economic growth, and responsible development in Greenland. He explained: “We cannot invent a new shrimp, develop a new cod, or produce a new halibut. However, we can cultivate seaweed and sell it through our existing global sales network; hence seaweed can also be a growth catalyst for new products.” Seaweed perfectly aligns with our sustainability profile and reinforces our focus on ocean health, especially around Greenland. 🎉 As a trailblazer in the seaweed industry, Kristian has been instrumental in bringing this resource to the northern european market. At Royal Greenland, he continues to innovate by unlocking the potential of overlooked resources, transforming them into high-value products that contribute to our sustainability standards. A special thanks to Kattegatcentret for the opportunity to share our story and connect with industry peers 🙏 Read more about our seaweed projects here: https://lnkd.in/ePM466mi

Royal Greenland reposted this
The past Royal Greenland months have been hectic but exciting: - We are progressing well on our turnaround strategy to cut min. 100m DKK from our cost base by next year 💵 - The leadership team spent 3 days together in Maniitsoq to define our new, more focused and simplified Strategy till 2027 (and we got to appreciate the amazing Nutaaq project on the well boat) ⛴️ - The Advisory board met in Nuuk and signed off the Strategy development to date ✍️ In addition, I have had the great opportunity to meet and connect with our sales teams in Germany 🇩🇪 and UK 🇬🇧 to learn about how the leaner and more focused sales efforts are shaping up for growth. I also enjoyed visiting one of our prawn factories in Illulisat, where new projects are taking shape after some early birthing issues for our innovative Halibut line. Really proud of the fighting spirit of our teams and the effort every one of our 2400 employees is making to return Royal Greenland back to profitable growth for the benefit of the Greenlandic population 🇬🇱 #royalgreenland #greenland
