Hi Brent,

I know you asked for feedback though Github but I am not a developer and sometimes there are too many hoops to jump through to understand how that is done. Also, the GitHub reference page that nvAlt directs me to says it has not been updated since 2013. I am not sure that this is the best method for ensuring a timely feature suggestion (because I am not sure I have done this correctly or how t0 check for a response).

I just purchased a license for Marked 2. I am still not sure that Marked 2 has any place in my current work flow. I purchased Markdown 2 as it seemed to be a good way to support what you do. I appreciate nvAlt very much.

The one thing I miss having in nvAlt is having the alt menu (right click) to speak text. This is a built in Apple function that many apps already have. Curiously, nvAlt does not have this feature.

As a writer I find it valuable to hear my text read back to me. It helps me to hear my voice read back from a different perspective. I catch many errors that way. I also enjoy getting out of my chair and doing things while hearing something read to me. When learning or reviewing ideas, I find that this can be very helpful at times.

Bean would do this but with High Sierra, Bean doesn’t open as it once did. For nvAlt to be most useful as a writers tool, it needs the ability to read back what I have written.

I hope that you will consider this idea as useful.

Thank you.
