I'm the creator and maintainer of ack, the greplike code search tool.

I maintain altbox.dev, a collection of open source alternatives to standard *nix tools.

I've been in open source since the 1990s, mostly in Perl. Some of the things I've written:

  • WWW::Mechanize, the handy web browser in an object.
  • Test::WWW::Mechanize, the WWW::Mechanize extension to make automated website testing easier.
  • Module::Starter, the first tool to create a skeleton Perl module distribution.
  • prove, the standard tool for running Perl tests
