I recently found this project after using Pronto (https://github.com/prontolabs/pronto). What are the differences in use cases and goals of this project?

Without being an expert at either, I'd say that Pronto looks like it grew out of being a local checker while reviewdog started out as a CI tool. They cover much of the same bases, but Pronto is a Ruby project (which one might consider an advantage or disadvantage) while reviewdog is a simple go binary.
