[Enhancement] Import contact list #4181
Comments
Hello, I wrote something quick to add a list of contacts from a file, would that solve your problem? You can also find a user manual on our wiki for more informations: https://github.com/qTox/qTox/blob/master/doc/user_manual_en.md |
Hi
Thank you very much for your effort. In fact this would make the final rollout of qTox (in the moment I am testing it with the technical staff) a lot easier.
Yours Sincerely
Stefan

The tox:toxid URLs should work if qTox was installed correctly. If they don"t, please file a bug with the details and I"ll be happy to take a look at it.

Just one question: Does the contact list just contain the plain Tox-Ids? In that case, adding a name as comment would quite helpfull. I could easily identify users who have left the company and not add their names to the list of new users, which would only cause confusion. I was thinking of someting along tis line: |
And another question: Are there any nightlies which I can use to test the code on Linux or do I have to compile qTox myself, which seems rather complicated? |
There are no up-to-date nightly builds, we"re looking for a maintainer that would be willing to pick up that stuff: #4174
Well, compiling qTox shouldn"t be complicated if you have the dependencies installed – a single cmake command ought to do the job. If there are parts of INSTALL.md that aren"t easy to follow, please don"t hesitate to point them out. Aside from INSTALL.md there is |
Hello
I would like to be able to import a centrally managed user list ( essentially a list of Pubkeys, maybe with the current user names as additional information). We are a growing company and I would prefer a simpler alternative to the copy-and-paste-orgy which new users have to endure until all their colleagues are on the contact list.
Also: Should clicking on tox:toxid - links work in the moment on Linux or Windows? In both cases I get a messages about X being not a proper toxme address and repeated clicking causes multiple client to start up to the profile selector windows.
Is there any guide how to get this working?
Grüße
Stefan
