Hey,
I built a Marsyas extractor based on the code for bextract. I now realize that the offset option in the SoundFileSource Marsystem does not work for MP3 nor WAV in neither my own class nor the default bextract built on a Debian system.
I found that a similar bug was already reported in 2009 on sourceforge but no update was posted back then:
