Gem which helps initialize class instance with .call
method.
.call(*args) => #new.call(*args)
Add this line to your application's Gemfile:
gem 'caller'
And then execute:
$ bundle
Or install it yourself as:
$ gem install caller
Do you have some code like this?
module Service
def call(*args)
new(*args).call
end
end
class Printer
extend Service
def initialize(text)
@text = text
end
def call
@text
end
end
Let's replace it with caller
class Printer
extend Caller
def call(text)
text
end
end
Printer.call('Say caller')
Assign other alias for the constructor with caller_for
method
class Printer
extend Caller
caller_for :print
def print(text)
text
end
end
Printer.print('Say caller')
