For more of an security through obscurity reason, it would be nice to hide the SERVER_NAME from being used for Message-IDs.
We use the helpdesk on an internal system where the hostname isn"t one we want to disclose. Using the from domain would be better, relevant and still matched/recorded in the database.
Largely, I don"t think there are any technical reasons to not make this the default but I could be overlooking some unique reasons where the machine hostname on the ID is useful.
