npm istall on macOS Big Sur can't finish #2158

Quick Summary:
I'm trying to run npm install elm but the process is frozen on download elm step.

Nothing happens after this.

  • Elm: 0.19.x
  • Operating System: macOS Big Sur (11.0.1)
  • Node version: v12.18.3 and v14.15.2
  • Macbook version: Macbook Pro 15" 2017

On a MacBook Air 2013 running Big Sur 11.1 and npm 7.0.15, it succeeded. Admittedly I am entirely unfamiliar with npm, I got my copy through homebrew.

thank you, I also asks other developers. Looks like it is an issue on my machine. Let's close it.
