  • Auto Start on Linux: Select from within Cryptomator, if it should start on user login. Supported distribution formats are DEB/PPA and AUR and your DE must adhere to the freedesktop standard.

  • Fixed last modfied time is not preserved if vault is stored in pCloud (#2058)
  • Mitigated failing Microsoft Office file saving inside a Dropbox vault by selecting correct volume type during vault import (#3512)

  • Removal of Dokany: We deprecated volume type "Dokany" with version 1.7.0 and now finally removed it. If inside the app the volume type is still used, an info dialog will be shown and the settings migrated to the default volume type (#3361, #3457)
  • VautList: Double-click on an unlocked vault reveals it by @MSevenR in #3414
  • Update Checker: More information displayed when manually triggering an update check (#3362)

Security Fixes 🚨

  • Deletion of protected resources: The Cryptomator MSI installer is build with the WiX toolkit. Installers build with a toolkit version below 3.14.1 can be used to delete system directories by using directory junctions. (CVE-2024-29187)
  • Local Privilege Escalation: The Cryptomator EXE installer is build wiht the WiX toolkit. Installers build with a toolkit version below 3.14.1 can be used to execute arbitrary binaries by using the Windows temp directory. (CVE-2024-29188)

We advise to remove the vulnerable installers from the system. Already cached installers will be removed when installing this update.
