Various updates and minor bug fixes, including:

  • SGF parameters must now be specified (i.e. no default setting);
  • 'psd' argument removed from call to pwelch in restingIAF;
  • option to implement pwelch using an alternative taper to the default Hamming window;
  • meanIAF reconfigured to cope with >2 sets of intraindividual recordings;
  • plotAvSpec added to enable plotting of (Q-weighted) averaged channel spectra;
  • tutorial updated to include example figures from plotAvSpec;
  • simulation script separated into single & multi-component analyse scripts;
  • tutorial and simulation scripts updated in line with above modifications.

chanGravs and restingIAF functions updated so that individual alpha-band window used to calculate CoG is included in the summary statistics data structure output.

Tutorial updated to include an additional dataset where the post-experiment recording failed to produce a PAF estimate.

Minor changes made to tutorial script to enable epochs data to be passed to restingIAF.

Initial software release following publication of Corcoran et al.'s automated IAF quantification preprint.
Includes functions for performing Savitzky-Golay filtering and differentiation of power spectrum in order to estimate individual alpha frequency measures (peak alpha frequency and alpha frequency centre of gravity).
See the included tutorial files for a demonstration of how these functions can be integrated within EEGLAB to derive IAF estimates from preprocessed EEG data.
Package also includes functions required to replicate the simulation-based analyses reported in the preprint.

Customised scripts used to preprocess EEG data and estimate IAF-anchored alpha band activity in Cross et al. (manuscript in preparation). Output files have also been provided.

NB: KONGrestIAF replaces sgolayIAF as the script used to invoke the restingIAF analysis functions.

Pre-release

MATLAB functions required to run IAF analysis (invoked by sgolayIAF script). This software is currently under development and requires extensive testing before being distributed.

Release v0.1.0 formed the basis of Cross et al's (manuscript in preparation) resting-state IAF analysis. Additional analysis scripts customised for the purposes of this study are included in release v0.1.1.

Software developed in collaboration with Dr. Phillip Alday, Prof. Matthias Schlesewsky, & Prof. Ina Bornkessel-Schlesewsky, University of South Australia Cognitive Neuroscience Laboratory.
