This build is from the upstream master branch after fully merging all the android changes. It also includes a recent bugfix for exult#211.

This build is largely identical to the previous snapshot, but is rebased from the official Exult v1.8.0 tag. This is the same APK available to download from http://exult.info/download.php.

2022-04-09 snapshot APK of Exult for Android. This snapshot is identical to the 2022-03-31 snapshot, except it reverts to SDL version 2.0.14. This resolves problems with the virtual joystick and choppy music present in the 2022-03-31 snapshot which appear to be caused by the SDL upgrade. 2022-03-31 snapshot APK of Exult for Android. In addition to rebasing the tree against the latest Exult tree, the primary improvements over the previous snapshot are adjustments to the launcher tab for low-resolution devices, reporting progress/errors when installing content, addition of mt32emu support, eliminating symbolic links from the git repository, and pulling the SDL java sources from the SDL repository rather than hosting a copy here. Note: This release included an upgrade to SDL version 2.0.20, which introduced problems with choppy music playback and broke the virtual joystick. This release should not be used. The 2022-04-09 release reverts to SDL version 2.0.14, which has stable music and a working virtual joystick.

2022-02-23 snapshot APK of Exult for Android. In addition to rebasing the tree against the latest Exult tree, the primary improvements over the previous snapshot are fixes to autolaunch, fixing a crash when restarting the app, addition of the ESC button, and keeping the dpad hidden until it is needed. This release also flags the app as a game, but it doesn't appear to be completely correct as the game mode warning is not yet showing up when the game launches on a kindle fire. 2022-01-13 snapshot APK of Exult for Android. In addition to rebasing the tree against the latest Exult tree, the primary improvement over the previous snapshot is in the launcher UI. It is now split up into several tabs, adds an autolaunch checkbox, and has a tab for viewing the console output that the Exult engine prints while running. 2021-08-19 snapshot APK of Exult for Android. Primary improvement over the previous snapshot is that this is a release build which substantially improves performance. Also has a number of other small improvements to bring it closer to alignment with th e iOS version. See the README for details on how to install and known issues and limitations.

WARNING: This is a signed release apk which you can't be directly installed over the top of the previous debug apk. You will have to uninstall the old version and then install this one. When you uninstall, you will lose all your configuration, installed content, and savegames. If you want to preserve the savegames, you will need to find a way to copy them off and restore them.
