Releases: carlelieser/flixerr
The Forsythia Update
This update includes minor improvements to the codebase and fixes bugs related to the torrent search algorithm (which obviously affects the usability of the app). In the previous update, somewhere along the way, some torrent sources became deprecated (Popcorn Time and The Pirate Bay). These are now fixed in this update. The logo has also been revamped.
Some upcoming changes
- Netflix style in-player content suggestions
- Better dark-mode implementation
- Ability to add user-generated torrent source
- Home page
- Continue playing most recent content from new home page
The Agave Update
This update implements a really cool feature I'm excited to announce: live chat. Yeah. Seriously. In this update, anytime you start watching a movie, you'll be connected to that movie's live chat where you can make comments and interact with others who are watching. Everyone is allowed to comment whatever they want in any movie chat regardless of membership.
This update also allows users to use the new invite-only Flixerr Premium service currently in development, where some movies will be streamed off a dedicated server in the highest available quality, offering extremely fast streaming speeds compared to streaming torrents.
In other exciting news:
- Subtitle source fetching is fixed
- Pip view is heavily improved.
The Rosemary Update
This Flixerr release heavily improves performance and adds some cool features to the media player, as well as some minor design changes. Overall, as you can tell by the lists below, these changes were geared towards improving user experience while expanding existing functionality in the app. We hope you enjoy!
General changes
- Dark mode toggle
- Heavily improve loading performance across all tabs
- Minor design updates to the account creation/login component
Player updates
- Periodic autosave functionality
- Picture-in-picture mode
- Chromecast capability
- Ability to live-transcode unsupported media types
- Improve movie query performance with PopcornApi
- More subtitles
The Drakaea Update
In this update, we introduce trailers! Just click on any movie and the container underneath the poster will show a "View Trailer" button if a trailer has been found.
Besides that, we also added the ability to auto-update so users no longer have to manually download new versions from the website or the repo.
This update also includes performance improvements, most notably a throttle for fetching content so as not to trigger a 429 error from TMDB API, and we fix some bugs that were preventing the loading icons from showing!
The "Final" Update
This release fixes some issues with the current Movie DB API. Previous versions are now obsolete.
The Passionfruit Update
This update introduces TV Shows, fixes an account creation bug, and provides compatibility for the latest version of Mac OS Mojave. Also adjusted subtitle fetching method.
The Feijoa Update
This release adds support for Netflix movies and adds compatibility for subtitles (if the torrent being streamed has them). It also fixes an issue with remembering manually chosen torrents from the backup-torrent container. A movie load progress interval timer has also been added.
The Cherry Update
This release fixes all previous issues with data synchronization and data management, and heavily improves performance. A few cool features were added in this update, too, including a setting for streaming quality, a movie status snackbar, and our own proprietary intro animation. This update also introduces an alternative way of viewing your suggestions, recents, and favorites. Minor UI changes were made as well regarding movie item and button styling.
